Apple iPod Nano (1GB, White) price range: $225.00

The good: The iPod Nano has a gorgeous, superslim design with a bright, photo-friendly screen. It is easy to operate and works seamlessly with iTunes and the iTunes Music Store, which has the world's largest selection of music. It boasts a nimble processor and system performance with no skipping, thanks to flash memory.
The bad: The iPod Nano suffers from unspectacular battery life, and though the device is durable, it scratches easily; blemishes show up more drastically on the black version. The Nano is pricey in terms of gigabytes per dollar, and its 4GB maximum capacity is not a good fit for many power users. The player skips many sought-after extra features such as FM radio and A/V-out, and it doesn't work with Camera Connector. The USB power adapter ($29) is not included.
The bottom line: Thanks to its limited capacity, the gorgeous iPod Nano isn't for everybody, but it sets the standard for MP3 players to come.

It's Not THAT Bad!
by esb_fan on March 25, 2006
Pros: Small and light, attractive, has a customizable main menu, is a status symbol. With good speakers the music quality is excellent. Fairly easy to operate.
Cons: Some minor operating bugs, included earbuds are horrible, lacks FM tuner, iTunes greatly slows Windows XP, only compatible with iTunes.
Summary: After weeks of researching MP3 players, I finally settled on the iPod Nano. I'm not saying it was a mistake, but perhaps there were better choices.

I like that the Nano is stylish, affordable, and lightweight. There are several problems with it, though. I am continually having to reset it. The earbuds that came with it stink. It relies almost completely on iTunes, which doesn't run too well with Windows. Also, it is reputed to be fragile and scratch easily, and the case that comes with it is very light and thin. I bought a better, soft, clear cover for about $20.
So the bottom line is, this is a great MP3 player if you like to be in style, but if you want a music player loaded with features such as FM tuner and voice recording, you probably don’t want this.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great Player in a small package
by firefrog on April 28, 2006
Pros: small, simple control, screen for viewing playlist, sync with iCal and address book
Cons: click wheel takes some getting used to, battery life could be better

Summary: I upgaded from the shuffle (my first mp3 player) when my oldest son wanted an iPod. I liked the screen so I could see what was playing and the size makes it easy to carry around, espeacilaly in the summer. The click wheel is the only real problem I have with the unit. It is difficult for me with big hands to control the wheel I would prefer nav buttons. I feel that this was a great buy and I will be happy with it for a very long time.

It is great, but it is missing a few important things.
by coltbolt11 on November 10, 2006
Pros: Small, light, bright, and it doesn't skip.
Cons: Doesn't play videos, can't download games, incompatible with many accessories, is easily scratched.
Summary: I bought a nano two months ago, and it is great besides the fact that it has a few sratches.

Great player in a small package
by kairmaui on July 3, 2006
Pros: It is small enough to keep in your pocket and is able to go anywhere with you. If you don't want a whole bunch of songs then this one is great because you can hold up to 250 songs instead of 1,000.
Cons: It scratches easily, battery life doesn't last a long time if you continue to recharge it too often.
Summary: I like using this player because it enables me to take it wherever I go, I am able to put photos on it, and listen to music without skips. It ...

Summary: i recently downgraded my ipod from a 4th generation 20gb to a 1GB nano. i gotta say, i'm loving it. its light and when i run with it, it doesnt sag my pocket pants. another good thing is that is doesnt automatically pause like my 4G-20GB ipod. i hated it when that happens. some people say that screen gets scratched easily, so i purchased the icondom to protect it. works great. love this tiny ipod unit. highly recommended.

Summary: I went to the Apple store and was surprised with the product. It sounded great and there were a fair amount of bonus features (it lacks radio and audio recording and to get those its quite expensive)When I took it home I noticed it was very light and if it drops out of your pocket you probably wont notice. There was one major flaw it smudges so easliy and when i tried to clean it I scratched it(the back)GET A CASE its the first thing you should do before you take it out of its box. The iPod came with two cases a cheap plastic thin case and a nice black one but you have no access to the screen so it makes the ipod hard to use. Im going to go to Future Shop or Best buy soon to get a case other than that its a fine product and easy to use. One other note id like to make is that I scratched in less than 5 hours of getting it so its a very good idea to get a case.

Summary: I think the design is incredible. The touch scroll wheel is nice. Though it has a somewhat limitied capacity I have no complaints about it anyway. Its battery life is a little short. This MP3 is great for people who want thier MP3 to be stylish. But if you want an MP3 player that can hold thousands of songs don't pick this one. But if you're okay with its limited capacity get this MP3 player, pronto.
