Apple iPod Nano 2011 (8GB, orange) price range: $139.00

The good: The iPod Nano costs less than before, is easier to navigate, and includes more Nike Plus fitness tracking capabilities. It's also still the best clip-on music player money can buy.
The bad: Many features have disappeared over the years, including video playback, camcorder, microphone, speaker, games, calendar, contacts, notes, and alarm clock. The touch-screen interface is overkill, requiring more attention than the time-tested click wheel design without delivering many practical benefits.
The bottom line: The sixth generation of the iPod Nano is the smallest yet, but it comes at the expense of valuable features and practical controls.

No Use At The Gym.
by eSSeMM36 on June 18, 2011
Pros: Sounds a lot better than previous generation iPods ... but lets face it, that wasn't difficult to achieve.
Cons: No use for the gym. After 24hrs loses the position for the last song played.
Summary: Bought the Nano to use at the gym and clipped onto the top of my shorts sweat has managed to get into the volume controls making it unusable. This seems ...
Summary: Bought the Nano to use at the gym and clipped onto the top of my shorts sweat has managed to get into the volume controls making it unusable. This seems to be a common problem.
Dried the thing out with a hair dryer and the volume controls are working again .... off to ebay it goes.0 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Made for Tiny Fingers!
by RaginBajan on March 22, 2011
Pros: Useful clip feature, Sharp screen
Cons: Tiny touch screen that's too tedious to manuever through, "Shaking Shuffle", Tiny volume buttons on top, Terrible battery life.

Summary: The last Ipod I had before this P.o.S. was the 2nd generation nano (yes, I'm delayed with technology but it did its job!). After dropping that one several times in the gym and in everyday activities, I decided to get this little gadget hoping that the clip feature would prevent dropping. Unfortunately, that's the only redeeming feature of this Ipod. The touch screen, although very sharp, is obnoxious! I usually let the Ipod shuffle through songs but I also like listening to certain songs and artists at times. I have one heck of a time getting to the "Songs" and "Artists" categories. Trying to skip to the next song is even a hassle - instead of going to the next song, I get the screen for the entire album! This may be because I have nails or fat fingers, but it's really annoying. Oh, and the shaking to the next song feature barely works. Not a fan of the volume buttons. I miss the wheel for that. Lastly, the battery life absolutely sucks. I charge it at night and by 10:30 am the next day, Im at roughly 75% of its life left! I miss my old Ipod!!! Let's try again Apple.

Possibly the worst iPod Apple has created.
by jrself on March 15, 2011
Pros: Comes in a pretty color. Connects to iTunes
Cons: Everything. The touchscreen is useless. The "apps" are useless. The shuffle is so much more practical. They took all the good features away. No video. No camera. No physical buttons.
Summary: Do not buy this product. Apple has neglected the nano and spent all their time on their big profit devices (iPad, iPhone). The smartphone is easily going to destroy products ...
Summary: Do not buy this product. Apple has neglected the nano and spent all their time on their big profit devices (iPad, iPhone). The smartphone is easily going to destroy products like this if manufacturers are going to make them useless. $150+ for this thing? Are you serious Apple?

Great Product! Love It!!!
by terrylvr2000 on March 11, 2011
Pros: The ease of use is really nice. Vibrant screen. Small and lightweight. Everything at a fingers touch. No problem with the battery life at all. Love it!!!
Cons: No video play. It doesn't take much to make it shuffle songs. The slightest bump and it shuffles all over again.
Summary: As stated above. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

Summary: I held out on buying an iPod. I don't need fashionable gadgets. I drive an Intrepid. The paralegals liked my modesty. I'd pull into the parking lot at Freyd, Arnett and Festinger. I'd see the other partners' BMWs, and think, "I'm practicing law for the right reasons."
Now it's just Arnett and Festinger. The other partners forced me out. I showed up for work one day, with my breakfast donut. But my office was empty, and the desk was totally bare. They'd confiscated everything, to prevent me from stealing. A security guard escorted me off of the premises. I was furious. I'd *made* them equity partners. But I left quietly, and ate my donut in the Intrepid.
I had no urge to sue Arnett and Festinger. I couldn't do anything, couldn't even get out of bed. My daughter was worried, so she bought me an iPod Nano. I spent a week converting my CDs to mp3s. Then I made a list of every good album I could think of. Timeless stuff: the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen. I bought music on the iTunes store, until I reached 8GB. Now my iPod Nano is filled to maximum capacity.
After the coup, I didn't go back to work. I garden, and go on long hikes. I listen sequentially to every song on my iPod. First the A artists, then B through Z, and then I start over. I never skip anything. I'm fair to all of the songs. I don't load new content or take anything off of my iPod. 8GB of music should be enough for the rest of my lifetime.0 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

This articles are very interesting.
by donnacarolchr on May 18, 2011
Pros: Yes I agree with wade, the recording only allows 30 seconds of time and yet there is no way to upload recordings from the iPhone to tumblr.
Cons: I agree .. I am using it to host my domain and I've been trying to get the most out of the tumblr app for iPhone!
Summary: So far my only concern is the audio recorder and uploader only allows 30 sec recording!

Smaller ,lighter, easier to use.
by jbrtn711 on October 4, 2010
Pros: Volume buttons easy to to use by feel, and more precise. Built in clip negates having to buy cases or strap holders. Light and small.Clip it on upside down if you're worried about sweating into the open plug. Duh
Cons: None. Try to figure out how to turn it off.
Summary: Makes previous nano seem large and clunky.
