At under $45 this product takes no prisoners.

Summary: I went shopping for a small FM radio to listen to news radio when walking. Pretty much learned you can't get just a radio anymore. Didn't really want an mp3 player, just the radio, which I felt given the size and construction (this thing is light but feels really substantial) was worth the price in itself. Now that I have it (and all the radio's "extras" I'm really appreciating the functionality this device offers: you can record radio straight to mp3 while you listening to it, make voice recordings, do all the file storing/transferring you expect with a USB device, has fitness timers with calorie counters based on activity/weight, and more. No batteries -- just plug to USB to charge. Headset quality is good (vice great), tuner sensitivity is solid. And the "oh-so-nippon" Popcorn characters? Why not? Cuter than cute. Amazing what you can get for forty bucks. Very satisfied with this product and quickly becoming a Samsung fan. Bravo.

Nice Player
by wllm75 on September 3, 2009
Pros: It is a nice simple player with no frills.
Cons: I HATE the little characters (popcons) on this thing. The good thing is you can make your own which can be a line if you want it to be
Summary: Nice spartan little player.

Simple, modest, not-so-bad
by DCrangerrick on August 21, 2009
Pros: 2 GBs holds more than you might think, the equalizer makes the sound quality pretty good and the Samsung software is intuitive.
Cons: The earbuds rate somewhere between CR and AP, with a four-foot cord guaranteed to tangle. I hate the sound recorder, and wish I could figure out how to make it never turn on again. I also bet I lose the cap for the USB plug
