The good: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is very inexpensive; it has a solid, pocket-friendly design with dedicated volume controls and a built-in belt-clip; it's easy to use; and it offers a plethora of handy features, including a MicroSD card slot, Rhapsody DNA, a voice recorder, an FM tuner, and support for FLAC, Ogg, Audible, and podcasts.
The bad: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ could stand to have better battery life and support for AAC; the monochrome display is small and may be hard for some to read.
The bottom line: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is an excellent successor to the line, offering a fitness-friendly design with a built-in belt-clip, a simple interface, solid sound quality, and plenty of handy features--all for an ultralow price. It's an unbeatable value.

Great little unit with memory expansion for small price
by crudis01 on September 1, 2009
Pros: Sound quality, size, supported audio formats, compatibility with multiple music "managers"
Cons: Would be nice if Sansa threw down the .75 per device for AAC

Summary: Super pleased with the device, 4GB for under $50 and the ability to expand to your hearts content with the card slot. Sounds quality is excellent for such a small device. Setup was seamless, love that it isn't tied to a particular media manager. Was able to move the Clip+ to another machine and transfer the files on the clip and the SD card to the new PC, excellent.
Headphones are just so-so, so I replaced them with a nicer pair. Easy since the device is so much less expensive than some variants. Great little workout device, used it at the gym already, perfect for a nice travel size unit. Doesn't have the bells and whistles of some more expensive, larger devices, but for what I wanted it for, perfect.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Small, decent MP3 player
by alpine2012 on September 1, 2009
Pros: Great price and small
Cons: Very difficult to read screen with sunglasses on or in the sunlight. Lacks the ability to add songs to 'now playing'.
Summary: Recommend if on a budget, but for a little more would upgrade to a Creative Zen.

An outstanding value.
by cureEous on February 11, 2012
Pros: Price. I paid $29.99 on Amamzon. Size. About the same size as a matchbox. With the clip-on feature the player is out of my way yet accessible during my workouts. Sound. Fantastic sound for such a small player. Syncing from my pc is easy and fast.
Cons: Battery life isn't the greatest but I think that is a small price to pay to get all of the benefits this player offers.
Summary: I love this player.

Excellent Product just some cons!
by Go-Pack-Go on November 8, 2011
Pros: Superb sound quality, Easy menu control, Easy button control, Cool Music EQ, Power on is a button instead of a slider, Micro SD, non-removable clip, FM radio, record FM radio, Voice record, Slot Radio
Cons: Gets to smudged up, should of made a bigger screen since it is an upgrade from the 1st clip, No light up buttons

Summary: I mainly got this mp3 because of the Superb sound quality. If your looking for a mp3 to just play music with Superb sound quality and low price, this is for you. To me, they should of made a better upgrade than just different button style. Overall you can not beat how good the sound quality is for how cheap it is. The sound quality makes this mp3 sound like a $150 mp3. Its basically an Ipod Shuffle with a screen.

A great buy
by kandimba on July 26, 2010
Pros: Great sound.
Easy to use menus.
Expandable memory. You can buy a 16gb micro sd card and have an extremely cheap 18gb MP3 player!Cons: Radio reception could be a lot better. Sound is very low with European settings, it took me a while to understand that I had to change the settings to North America to be able to hear anything at all when on the street.
Summary: A great buy. With a 16gb sandisk micro sd card and a Koss Portapro headphones one can get the best sound quality and capacity for half the price of an ...

by j_d_9 on January 13, 2010
Pros: Crisp, Clear Screen. Value for money.
Small and light. Reliable. Amazing Sound Quality in a tiny player. microSD compatibility. FM Radio. Good Voice Recorder.Cons: USB cable too small and looks like a click-wheel but it isn't.

Good Player, Overpriced
by Jayjay911 on September 1, 2009
Pros: The sound quality is outstanding.
Easily picked up by a first time user.
Durability is above average
Folder Separation of music is a great feature allows you to select what you want to hear based on naming or which folder the audio is in.Cons: Overpriced, $40 for 2 gigs is overpriced.
Earplugs wear out too soon, requiring you to buy another set which run about half the cost of a new player.
Still possible to pause the FM radio? Hmm whats that all about?Summary: This is a good product even if the reviewer doesn't know what the hell she is talking about. Did we here he refer to it as a "Shuffle at ...
Summary: This is a good product even if the reviewer doesn't know what the hell she is talking about. Did we here he refer to it as a "Shuffle at 2:30 as in "Ipod Shuffle" Might be time for the editor to have a review of this lasses reviews herself. The player is a good quality product but as for all class 1 electronic devices, they final performance standard is, does the product work. They only ship if they do, however there is an outstanding problem with the previous model's firmware which sometimes fails to allow FM radio playback, and there is no mention of whether or not this was corrected in this model. Might be wise to investigate that further if that feature is important to you.
The original Clip is #97 on the top 100 electronics products on Amazon.com with 340 of 400 customers rating it 5 or 4 stars. Re-reading the CNET written review of this product I cannot locate the "obvious improvement" they seem to find between the original model and this model.
Overall the price is the biggest sticking point for me, 2GB isn't substantially more than 1GB is in terms of hours of audio and it certainly isn't worth it for the microSD expansion. This is a superfluous feature which makes almost no sense to have on this type of product because it doesn't provide functionality while reducing battery lifetime even if only a little bit.
In 2007 the 1GB model sold for about $40. Those players are very common and today sell for about $15-20. Going into the 2009 Holiday season they're asking the same price for a 2GB model which doesn't increase battery life, and provides a needless expansion slot. Though you probably won't be disapointed with the new model I'd stick with the 1GB model and just buy yourself an extra pair of ear plugs.

Updated on Sep 1, 2009One last thing, according to this site, you can get the original 2GB Clip you know the Clip without the +, and the extra unnecessary battery draining feature, for about half the price as the one with the +. Folks looking for a good player with 2GB or space would be wise to opt for that one. Cheers.0 out of 8 users found this user opinion helpful.
