The good: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is very inexpensive; it has a solid, pocket-friendly design with dedicated volume controls and a built-in belt-clip; it's easy to use; and it offers a plethora of handy features, including a MicroSD card slot, Rhapsody DNA, a voice recorder, an FM tuner, and support for FLAC, Ogg, Audible, and podcasts.
The bad: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ could stand to have better battery life and support for AAC; the monochrome display is small and may be hard for some to read.
The bottom line: The SanDisk Sansa Clip+ is an excellent successor to the line, offering a fitness-friendly design with a built-in belt-clip, a simple interface, solid sound quality, and plenty of handy features--all for an ultralow price. It's an unbeatable value.

Summary: I really wanted to love this mp3 player but the poor quality of the device has made it a huge disappointment for me. I am constantly having the device "freeze" when in the middle of playback of mp3 songs. The only solution I've found is to let the device run down its battery and then recharge it. This appears to "reset" the device and allow me to use it for a few more hours. Sandisk support has sent me a new device but I've experienced the same issues with that player. My suggestion is to not purchase this device.

Poor excuse for an mp3 player
by DispossessedV2 on November 29, 2011

Summary: Thinking I had gotten a good deal on an mp3 player, I found the menu bulky & inconvenient to use. The back & forth information display was confusing. After 2 months, I set a book down on it by accident & the display face cracked. Another 2 months later, the battery stopped charging to max, only taking a half charge or less. One week later, the device would freeze.
This device is a waste of money. -
Amazing. Simple. Affordable. Wonderful product.
by stonerock on August 20, 2011
Pros: Small. Love the clip for staying power during work-outs. Simple to program (drag and drop music), simple to turn on and adjust. Affordable price. Ability to increase space or pre-load playlists using radio cards and extra sc cards.
Cons: The equalizer is hard to determine what you are adjusting. All I see are bars to go and up with no description what I am altering.

Summary: Never interested in apple products, I wanted to get something different after my Creative Zen Mosaic started acting up. I saw the positive reviews (overall) on the Sansa Clip+ and I have to say I am impressed with the quality in this small device. Sound is actually decent (treble and bass at the preset levels-notice my con above), and I had more problems downloading music with Creative products I had (Mosaic and Vision:M) so I was very impressed and pleased with the ease of drag and drop syncing for the Clip. The Clip portion certainly holds true to its name: whether running or weightlifting, the mp3 player held tight to my shorts as I exercised. Love the price as I dont believe in paying big bucks simply for the name. I have heard that some people have had issues with the product, but I am thankful it doesnt for me. Highly recommended.

Best non-iPod MP3 player I've ever used!

Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, microSD card slot, excellent audio quality
Cons: No AAC support, screen could be bigger, short battery life, so-so FM radio reception

Gives the iPod Nano a run for its money
by calipilot227 on March 23, 2011
Pros: -Tiny
-Has a screen
-Decent internal storage
-microSD slot
-FLAC Support
-AMAZING Sound Quality (much better than the iPod)
-FM Radio Tuner
-Voice RecorderCons: -Doesn't support an LOD (you'll need a Sansa Fuze for that, but it's not a huge deal unless you're planning on using an amp).

Summary: Wow. In a world dominated by iPods, many mp3 players are overlooked by the masses. However, there are some features that are missing entirely from the iPod, most notably FLAC support. If you're an audiophile, this is simply unacceptable. This little player costs less than half of what an iPod nano costs (even less than the iPod shuffle, but it holds more and has a screen). I find this player's physical buttons much easier to use than the nano's tiny touchscreen.
Undoubtedly the best feature though is the microSD slot, which allows you to add up to 32gb of additional storage. Loading music is as easy as connecting the player, dragging, and dropping. That's it. Works on both Macs and PCs (I have a mac).
The one department where this little player really shines, however, is sound quality. It has a much flatter frequency response than the iPod (which leans toward the brighter side), and the bass isn't rolled off. The amplifier is more powerful than the iPod's also, it had no problems driving my 64-ohm Sennheiser HD280 headphones. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend the Koss Portapro. The included earbuds are garbage (as are the iPod earbuds), but that's to be expected.
If you're considering an iPod nano, save yourself some money and get this player instead. My iPod classic is starting to get lonely, if that says anything. -
Great player Good for Audio Books
by homeguy5 on February 23, 2011
Pros: Very good for Audio Books from library handle all audio formats MP3, WMA, WAV

storage for a total of 8 gig. not only it allows you to change out 4 gig memory microSD for other ones.
I use mine for public library audiobooks using overdrive program. Works great. have 60 audiobooks and some 300 songs on mine. The think is you can stop turn the clip off and come back to the place you left off. Apple touch sucks. and limited formats. Sansa clip is 5 star. -
Great sound
by victork1 on January 11, 2011
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Lots of Storage, Great Sound, Unbeatable price, Sleek/Compact, No extra software needed, Copy files with USB, Reliable Performance, Simple Controls
Cons: Included earbud sound bad, files names capped to 22 characters

Summary: The device sounds great (the included earbuds sound barely OK). Portable and light. Clip-on for gym. Easy to navigate folders. Easy to transfer files, rename, delete, etc, since it acts like a USB drive.
You may need to buy better earbuds. Also: the folder or song names can't be longer than 22 characters or else it will display some funky characters at the beginning, so rename to not more than 22. Example: my album "Black Clouds and Silver Linings" had to be renamed "Black Clouds & Silver". Not ideal, but beats the iPod shuffle (the only comparable in size, but has no screen, no folder structure, nothing) and it is smaller and lighter than any other device with a screen. -
Great product, but volume control broke after 4 months

Summary: I had never heard of Sansa until I received this player as a gift. I would not have purchased it for myself as it is an unfamiliar brand and the price was suspiciously low.
However, this player is great and EXTREMELY easy to use. No interface problem, no software to down load, just plug it in and drag and drop your files just like you do with any other file folder or memory stick. Voice recorder works good also. FM radio works on it as well.
Great player would definitely recommend it to others. I think the volume switch breaking was probably a fluke (it broke while in my pocket, the unit was not even turned). At the price, this thing can still not be beat. -
A downgrade without the actual downgrade
by spddmn23 on December 1, 2010
Pros: small, great sound, detailed audio info, affordable, great for music, audio books, pod casts, voice recording. for the size, battery life is not so bad, can hold its own against some of the bigger devices.
Cons: volume could stand to be a bit louder.
Summary: I would highly recommend this product for the casual music listener, but if you use in ear noise reducing head phones this device is just right, how loud do you ...
Summary: I would highly recommend this product for the casual music listener, but if you use in ear noise reducing head phones this device is just right, how loud do you really need your music anyway.

all round great player
by smokyhaze on November 5, 2010
Pros: great battery life
great sound quality
intuitive menu and the option of browsing by folder
really tough and durable
full preset and manual eq
never hangs / freezes or pauses
radio
cheap
well designed, more for function than fashionCons: the only additional thing i would love to see is name of radio channel as you browse automatically. but i dont think i have come across that feature in a player this size. i would also love to see a genius or musicovery like mood based auto playlist.
Summary: really happy with this player. i have no idea why there aren't many good reviews. it really is a fantastic option on a budget... someoones really thoughtfully designed it... ...
