The good: The Sony S-Series Walkman is nicely designed and has a high-quality feel; it offers a load of cool extras such as integrated noise-canceling, an FM tuner, podcast support, and a smart playlist creator. The display is bright and crisp, and the interface is customizable and easy to navigate. The player sounds great right out of the box and features several sound-enhancement options. It has Rhapsody DNA and works flawlessly with Amazon Video On Demand. Battery life is superb.
The bad: The S-Series Walkman maxes out at 8GB and doesn't include memory expansion. The packaged earbuds, which are necessary for the noise-cancellation feature, may not be comfortable for all users. There's no voice recording option.
The bottom line: Thanks to excellent sound quality, integrated noise-canceling functionality, and several smart music sorting options, the Sony S-Series Walkman is a superb choice for music aficionados.

One of the best players around

Pros: The player has wonderful sound quality, even when used with headphones from other brands. It has a sleek interface and is user-friendly, so you don't really need to go through the user's manual.
Cons: If the screen were bigger by a mere 0.2 inch, video viewing would be a more pleasant experience. The included software does not include a video converter. And... I hate the plastic packaging, it makes the player look cheap.
Summary: I really like the fact that the player comes with such good quality headphones, but I wish there were more sleeves. Compared to my other Mp3 players, the Sony NWZ-S736 ...

Summary: I really like the fact that the player comes with such good quality headphones, but I wish there were more sleeves. Compared to my other Mp3 players, the Sony NWZ-S736 is the only player that can compete with my older Panasonic D-Snap SD-370V (available in Japan only), in terms of sound and battery life. Sense-Me is quite unique, but I don't think everybody needs this function. If anyone is having trouble converting videos, I recommend the free Jodix iPod Video Converter, which can be downloaded from CNet.com. Sony uses the same kind of video format as iPod's. If you're looking for a player that sounds a lot better than iPods, Sony NWZ-S736 is your choice.

A very impressive device. Clean sound, Excellent video

Pros: Excellent sound and video playback although the ability to set your own sound level is lacking. Looks clean, crisp, sharp. Nice weight and easy to navigate even in the dark. Battery life is unbeatable. Ipod does not come close.Highly recommended.
Cons: Lacks a video converter. Have had to convert videos using several converters before I found one that worked (see above). lousy software to manage, and copy files. Software was not very user friendly.

Excellent for traveling

Pros: The noise cancellation works perfect in trains and on board of airplanes.
Cons: Not available any more ;-)
But Sony might bring the S-700 series to US and Europe also soon.
