  2 purchased; neither works correctly; awful support

  Pros: Printed nicely while it worked.

  Cons: 1 never worked quite right
  1 broke completely after a few months
  customer support has completely failed
  been without a printer for TEN DAYS now
  even when the 1 machine worked for a while, it wrinkled envelopes badly

  Summary: Bought 2 of these in Jan., 2011 to be the primary all-in-ones for two of our offices, one in NC, one in SC. NC one worked ok for a few months (although it badly wrinkled all envelopes, which was frustrating), then started jamming non-stop. Could not print at all.
  
  Called Brother after 1.5 days of problems; initial telephone customer service seemed competent. Tech was supposed to come and fix. Tech did not show the next day day; Brother had no explanation. Tech did not show the following day; Brother had no explanation. Tech showed the next day (5th day of the problem), but the part Brother had sent wasn't going to do the trick. A new part was necessary, and would be in in the next 48 hours.
  
  I was then told that Brother doesn't even have the part needed to fix the machine. I was told Brother was Fed Exing a replacement printer, to arrive 2 business days hence. New printer didn't arrive that Friday as scheduled.
  
  When I called Monday - 10 days after problems started - Brother had no explanation as to why the printer hadn't arrived in a timely fashion. They gave me the Fed Ex tracking #, which I confirmed with "Junior". I then went to track it myself - the tracking # is not valid. So, here we sit, no printer for 10 days!
  
  The SC office printer has made loud noises from the very first day and almost seems like it's overheating every time it is used. We need to send this back also.
