Summary: Poor software. Creates install and uninstall issues. Once uninstall is used a DLL error will occur and can't be removed by HP software. Will have to use 3rd party utility program.
Reinstall becomes a problem after uninstall is done. Will not communicate over network or through USB. HP solutions were--reformat hard drive and reinstall all software.

HP quality has been going down over the years...
by BUConfused on June 15, 2012
Pros: Holds down the desk nicely and consumes ink rapidly
Cons: Leave it to HP to invent a flat bed scanner that only works if cover is completely closed ... no scanning anything thicker than a sheet of paper or bigger than letter size! Given the low chance of the software working, scanning is unlikely anyway

Good simple printer
by barton97 on December 1, 2012
Pros: Uses VERY LITTLE ink, Ink last a long time.
Cons: Ink prices, Loud when printing.
Summary: This is a good printer for someone that prints for home uses. I would NOT suggest this printer for a home business or large office.

HP Winner, Fast and easy, installed on my 6 PC network.
by Parkersspace on November 14, 2012
Pros: - Set up was a breeze, on 6 PC network with all different windows versions.
- runs full function from all computers on network wireless
- doesn't require a main PC to be on and
- high res scanning capable, OCR, and all pc's save to pdf ability
Cons: Not easy to set to use only black ink (which i have found now) and when a color gets low it wants it installed and will stop use if it's empty even when set to only use black. This is the one annoying thing I found.

Summary: I thought I should post on this as I see a couple of people had trouble with it and I found this to be the best printer and printer software to install and use that I have had in 10 years. In past I had the same issues as mentioned with numerous other HP all in one printers but this one was a breeze. I feel like for the first time in 10 years HP software engineers finally got their act together.
I only use HP printers in the office as my husband's main work place insists he use HP to match up with the head office OCR software, less issues. I have always in prior years found software conflicts, hang up, could never get it to run can on all computers through the network, only on the main one it was plugged in directly too etc. This new one, that is all fixed and no issue at all.
Set up was a breeze, the easiest printer I have ever installed. It is installed on my 6 pc home network, of which one uses win xp home, one win XP pro, one vista, one win 7 32 bit and two win 7 64 bit, it took my 10 minutes to have it running, printing and scanning from all 6 computers with no glitches on any.
The speed, print, fax and scan quality all exceeded my expectations and I have used it for scanning and printing small size photos (8X10 max) and I do stock photography so I can tell you that the colour accuracy was far better then I would have expected and it did find for non archival prints.
The fax has worked from plug in, no issues. The scan works from every computer on the next work, the software actually has full functionality, totally wireless and never an issue from every computer on the network. This included the none wireless computers that are linking to the network via the modem.
The update program that I always found a memory hog and annoying on HP printers has been improved greatly to offer a small message about updates and not eat up my memory trying to get priority.
Overall I have three printers, a brother a lexmark and this one and I my last three HP's were my last choice and used mainly by my husband for his one contact, but now it's my first choice and I haven't used another since installing it around 6 months to 1 year ago.

Set up couldn't be easier.
by FalconChief222 on October 21, 2012
Pros: It took no time at all to set this up. It connects to your network perfectly. There's no need for cables for any feature on this all-in-one. Prints and scans over your network.
Cons: I haven't come across any so far.
Summary: I would recommend this product for basic office use or home use. If you're planning to print a lot, I would suggest finding a laser jet all-in-one or getting ...
