Buyers Beware
by hammygirl97 on January 3, 2009
Pros: Excellent print quality and fairly easy to use.
Cons: Doesn't hold much paper. Has a paper tray that "recognizes" what kind of paper media you are using. Labels were not recognized properly. Constant error messages. Kodak phone support is AWFUL.
Summary: I ordered from the Kodak on line store. Printer had a paper jam error message 2 days after I started using it. Kodak could not fix the problem on the ...
Summary: I ordered from the Kodak on line store. Printer had a paper jam error message 2 days after I started using it. Kodak could not fix the problem on the phone. They sent me a new one (actually - it was a reconditioned one...even though I originally paid for a new one). This one worked fine for a few days then the print head was stuck on the left side. I could not move it by hand or access it to change ink, etc. Called Kodak again. They couldn't fix it over the phone. They wanted to send me yet another one....I said "no thanks" and am in the process of mailing this one back to get a refund...which brings me here to start from scratch reading reviews. Customer service via phone support was not helpful. They did not understand anything I was trying to tell them. I was on the phone for over an hour the first time and it was not pleasant. I am very disappointed with Kodak.

Color quality very poor
by Jaygps on January 8, 2009
Pros: WiFi - Ink prices
Cons: Drab colors, the kodak program changes the colors from the original document in the preview screen. All my deep plumb colors come out gray.Kodak phone support is poor most all calls are out-sorced to an off shore call center.
Summary: Color not true to original document.I'm On my second one the first printer did not work at all.
Don't buy it. Kodak should just close up shop, ...Summary: Color not true to original document.I'm On my second one the first printer did not work at all.
Don't buy it. Kodak should just close up shop, their time has come and gone.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

12 hours or more and it still works poorly.
by bdeelstra on March 2, 2009
Pros: I like the wifi feature and the claim of better ink prices and higher yeilds per ink cartridge.
Cons: 5 hours on the phone with tech support to install software. Then it wouldn't print, received new print head from Kodak, still didn't work after several print tests and other maint functions prints color only. Paper feed jammed too.
Summary: Liked the wifi feature, but the printer is not functional at all. Still doesn't print properly, maybe they will offer me a new unit, but I'd rather get ...

Great So far
by scrubdoogie on January 3, 2009
Pros: So far it only copys the picture itself, not the whole layout of the scanning glass area.
Cons: None yet...

Summary: I received it as a Christmas gift, it has been all I wanted for some time. It was very easy to hook up and start using right away. When you scan a picture that's what you get the picture, not the whole glass scanning area like most scanners. We have 3 pc's in our home and it has worked great for networking. The more we use it I will come back to submit more of a review.

Buyer Beware!
by tuckermorris on November 9, 2009
Pros: For everyday print jobs, it is fine.
Cons: The envelope function did not work on the first one we purchased. I literally spent HOURS on the phone with INDIA!!! With one exception, the customer service reps did not speak english well. It has been one of the most frustrating experiences.
Summary: The customer service for this product is shipped out to India. With one exception, the representatives did not speak English well. Each time I called, trying to get them to ...
Summary: The customer service for this product is shipped out to India. With one exception, the representatives did not speak English well. Each time I called, trying to get them to help me, I had to explain, yet again, what the problem was. When finally they could not help me, they said they would send me a new printer. Well great, I thought! All my time was worth it. Except they sent me a newly reconditioned printer which didn't work either. I would never again buy this or any other Kodak product.

Beware, worst on the market
by rmaust on November 1, 2009
Pros: Scans ok otherwise none
Cons: Replaced print head in less than a year under warranty. Stil locks up, prints blank pages (no black) has to be unplugged to reset. Wouldn't buy another for the shipping cost alone much less the cost of the printer.
Summary: The printer consistently malfuntions on print jobs. Even plain test, you never know if it will print a blank page, a partial page or a perfect page. About one in ...
Summary: The printer consistently malfuntions on print jobs. Even plain test, you never know if it will print a blank page, a partial page or a perfect page. About one in three pages comes out ok, and that is after brand new cartridges, a new print head from Kodak under warranty, the new firmware update AND the new drivers release in Sept. 09, the only good thing is the occasional scans I do, those do generally work fine, but for the size of the unit why waste the desk space on a piece of junk. I am an IT director at a local business and deal with 100's of printers of every make, brand and model, and this one is by far the worst I've come across yet. Avoid it at all costs. I was dumb enough to even buy an extended warranty so I wasted more than just the cost of the printer.

Worst Drivers and Support I've Ever Encountered
by bribecker on October 13, 2009
Pros: Wi-Fi
I couldn't think of a second pro, but CNET requires that I enter at least 10 charcters...Cons: Drivers are worse than HP drivers of 20 years ago.
Ink is cheap, but is used up at twice the rate, so the cost savings aren't what Kodak claims.
Small paper bins that are difficult to access.
Customer support is abysmal.Summary: I live in Rochester NY. I try to support the local economy and Kodak (despite the fact the the printer is manufactured overseas). I've had this printer for 6 ...
Summary: I live in Rochester NY. I try to support the local economy and Kodak (despite the fact the the printer is manufactured overseas). I've had this printer for 6 months now and I'll never buy another Kodak printer, ever. The printer driver software is flawed to the point of being useless. Specifics: Multi-page printing (n-up) is woeful. Print preview can't deal with a multiple monitor setup. Print preview doesn't render an accurate preview. Yes, the ink is cheap, but it seems to get used up at a much faster rate than any other printer I've owned. Customer support is useless... when I showed them the problem with n-up printing, rather than trying to address the problem, I get the line "many of our customers are happy with their printers".
I've owned HP, Lexmark, Texas Instruments, Epson, Minolta, and Brother printers... this Kodak falls way below the rest, by a wide margin. Bottom line, don't make the mistake I did... buy almost any other manufacturer's printer. -
This rating is too high.

Pros: The LCD screen would be cool if the printer actually worked.
Cons: Everything about the operation of this printer is horrible.

Summary: My first printer worked, barely with all the paper jams, for about 3 mths. Then the printhead went out. They sent me a new printhead which worked for 2 wks before it stopped printing again. Then they sent me a second printer, refurbished even though I had paid for a new printer and got a piece of junk, and right out of the box it won't work. Now they are sending me a new printhead for it. They should have sent me a new printhead with the second printer instead of expecting me to use the one from the first piece of crap. After reading all the bad reviews on this and thier previous printers what strikes me the most is the keeping coming out with new versions of worthless machines instead of fixing the problems with the earlier ones and making a quality machine that works. This is horrible customer service and ruining the reputation of a company you expect quality from. They should stop wasting money on infomortials for junk and use it to correct thier faulty machines. Do not waste your time and money on thier worthless piles of plastic. You will spend twice as much in the long run because you'll have to buy a second printer that works. I'm completly discusted with Kodak and would never spend another dime on anything with thier name on it.
