  Summary: 13mbps is the fastest Ive ever seen this thing move and that only lasts for a split second before it drops back down to its normal range of 1-2mpbs. I'm running dual 1.5tb seagate cuda's at 7200rpm. I've put drives in normal mode as well as both raid configurations - it still no work-o.
  
  TERRIBLE T-R-B-L Customer Support/Service/etc.
  
  I bought this thing about three months ago and it never worked correctly. The US. Tech Support guy (there's only one guy and his name is Dave) is not educated about the product AT ALL, and provided no help.
  
  I sent this back to the manufacturer to exchange it for a new unit - 4 weeks ago... And after MacAlly lost the unit I sent back to them and had no record of receiving it - which I thank Jesus for UPS tracking, delivery verification, and "Garcia" for signing off on it. They were to send me a new one... Except, they forgot to... Finally a month later I got my replacement.... And like clockwork I've got 13mbps or less on the new device.
  
  So please do no buy this thing. It's horribly terrible.

  Doorstop. Bookend. Hums a lot, works a little.

  Pros: Well built. That's it.

  Cons: Slow. Poor UI. Slow. Can't sustain multiple connections. Slow. Did I mention slow? FTP takes 90 secs to login! NO TECH SUPPORT.

  Slow (using a crossover cable to a gig-e port direct on a machine, can't exceed more than 10MB/sec [avgs 5]).
  
  Won't hold configuration. Loses it's IP config (static) at every reboot.
  
  Cant perform more than 1 operation at a time, (ie: add a share in the web UI, and it drops off the network.)
  
  Become increasingly slow as drive fills up (was 50% slower when drives reached 4% of capacity... 4% full, NOT 4% empty).
  
  Unable to find resolution from support at Macally.
  
  Poor localization in web UI. "The browser will be close." what the heck does that mean?
  
  In short, Macally usually has good products and decent support, but this device seems to be a red-headed stepchild.
  
  Is it possible to go into negative star ratings? If so, then they get a -2, and they owe me a couple.
