The good: The Seagate BlackArmor 220 offers decent throughput speed, easy-to-use remote access, and many customization options. The server supports RAID 1 and RAID 0 configurations and is compact.
The bad: The Seagate BlackArmor 220's hard drives are difficult to replace and more than basic networking know-how is required to use its advanced features.
The bottom line: The Seagate BlackArmor 220 is a good entry-level NAS server for small business and advanced users.

works like a charm, perfect file storage

Pros: No windows installation required, I do share between windows 7, vista and Ubuntu on the same network without problems.
It is not the fastest machine, but very acceptable. Cost is just a little more than two TB harddisks. I replaced my synology 106e
Cons: the backup software is an older version/rebranded acronis trueimage. As soon as I installed it, it blocked my (latest) version of trueimage and I had to reinstall my full version.
Summary: very competitive price
works without any problem on win7, vista and ubuntu
installs within minutes
requires Gigabit network to reach full speed (as most nas)

Pros: pro what can i say seagate use to be a good compnay emphasis on the USE to be
Cons: warranty is lousy they will find a way to say its your fault
