It tells you if it's a 10BaseT (Ethernet), 100BaseTX (Fast Ethernet), Token Ring, analog telephone, PBX, or ISDN connection. The tester warns you if unidentified signals occupy the jack or if the jack isn't connected. For example, the Veri-Net Pro can help you avoid PBX systems that supply voltage and current levels that far exceed what your modems or network devices can handle.
