The multi-mode fiber networking equipment and structured cabling may come up short when network service needs to be extended inside the LAN or outside into remote buildings or locations. The iMcV-S2MM Series of fiber mode converters allow you to easily extend your network to remote locations by converting to single-mode fiber - without having to replace your existing multi-mode fiber equipment. As an economical alternative to using a switch with fixed single-mode fiber ports or GBICs, simply install a fiber mode converter to achieve distances of over 80 km. Protocol-independent operation means the S2MM series gets the job done: from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet and ATM/OC-3 choose the S2MM/155 series; for OC-12, Gigabit Ethernet and FiberChannel, choose the S2MM/1250 series. IMC Networks fiber optic mode converter series even includes multi-mode to multi-mode and single-mode to long-haul single-mode converters for specialty data networking applications. The modular architecture of the iMcV-S2MM Series gives you the flexibility to add single-mode fiber optic links to your network where and when needed. What's more, the S2MM/155 series is now available with Single Strand Fiber technology, which effectively doubles the existing fiber capacity by transmitting two-channel, full duplex data on just one strand of fiber.
