Summary: Seems the commenters here are miffed wqith vonage, so I'll offer you my experience. I bought from Iconnecthere, and they sell the same product but perhaps cheaper. They give it to you free, they ship it to you free and they give you a month of service free.
I have had few problems with quality, with only a couple of bad connections in a few months. I didn't use their customer service, but haven't needed to.
Hope that helps.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Beware - Does not work
by Nullifidian on October 13, 2008

Summary: Buyer beware. This equipment does not work properly. I bought a Linksys WAG160N so I could connect a new laptop by wireless. Needing a VoIP phone adapter to work with the modem I called Linksys to ask what I should do. They recommended a Linksys PAP2T adapter which I also bought. 1. The wireless internet connection fails frequently and constantly needs rebooting. I might just as well sit at the wired desktop. 2. The VoIP adapter normally does not work. Linksys tell me there is a known problem between the PAP2T and the WAG160N. It's sad that they didn't tell me this when I asked what to buy. 3. The WAG160N falls over every time I launch my P2P torrent program. Within two minutes the internet fails followed by the DSL line. It has never worked properly. Apparently this is also a known issue with this equipment. I have spent many hours with Linksys help trying to fix these issues, including firmware upgrades and much stuffing around. I have reached the point where I simply want my money back so I can buy other equipment that works.

Summary: Bought this at BB and received a $25 gc plus the 59.99 money back from vonage. I was up and running in less than an hour. I've had this and vonage for 3 weeks. NO PROBLEMS! The ONLY complaint I have is that the lights are SUPER bright.

Overall Excellent Quality
Pros: cheaper, more options, clear call quality, easy to set up, got credit applied to my account because it has taken longer than 20 business days to transfer my land line, got rebates on PAP2 so that adaptor was free.
Cons: LNP has not happened yet

Vonage: Lacks Any Real Customer Service
Pros: Potential for cheaper phone calls. More features available than with landline (pots) service.
Cons: WARNING: DO NOT sign up with VONAGE if you intend to keep your current phone number. I submitted LOA by fax on the same day that I signed up, as they promise that you can keep your current phone number. After 2 1/4 Months, I called Asst Customer Servic

Summary: This is a very good device. they have doubled the memory, used a texas instrument chipset, and stopped the break up in the voice that knownly cause by 10 megabit half duplex ethernet or makes it far more prone to it. This box they have changed it to the 10/100 full duplex. Which means you'll get a constant uninterrupted voice going out and coming in. For those of you that bought the locked version i'm sorry but i'm laughing at you. You should NEVER buy a locked device and if you did you deserve the the complications that come with it. But to be somewhat cool about it you could buy and open unlocked device from voxilla.com or voipsupply.com. The issues you have are caused by your provider NOT the unit itself but since the device is lock you'll never experience it's full potential by using it with another provider. Don't get caught in the trap don't buy a locked device, which is what you get when you go to vonage, earthlink, att,joi phone and sunrocket. Broadvoice uses locked devices also but they also allow you to BYOD which means "Bring Your Own Device". Hope this helps, I don't like to see anyone get caught in the trap! BTW this review is for the pap2t not the pap2. and one last tid-bit of info "NA" means it's unlock and it's set for North America. Such in this example "pap2t-na"

Vonage is garbage
by Marlo29 on June 18, 2006
Pros: average cost, average function
Cons: Terrible customer service, lack of choice in paying account, poor quality
Summary: Vonage is on a voyage to nowhere. Save your time and money with other options, I when somewhere else.
