by mda2512 on March 25, 2010
Pros: Just about everything considering the price.
Cons: The exterior is prone to fingerprints. So?
Summary: Can't go wrong here. I got this for my girl and all she does is itunes, web surfing, word processing and pictures. Works flawlessly so far.

Not a bad laptop
by mcmxl on March 15, 2010
Pros: Has all the basics-nice bright screen, DVD/CD R/W, good keyboard layout, decent HD, good amnt of RAM (expandable to 4 GB), and no web cam!
Cons: Non yet. Although friends tell me to stay away from COMPAQ, but I might be able to prove them wrong.
Summary: I was looking for a laptop WITHOUT a web cam-almost all of them these days have one. This had good reviews on CNET an I'm glad so far I ...

Summary: I have owned this laptop for about 4 years and it still hasn't broke down. I'm actually quite impressed. The major problem with this laptop is the battery life. Right now I can only last about 1 hour on battery before it dies. I'm a video editor and Photographer so I use a lot of software from Adobe. I have After effects and Photoshop installed. Photoshop runs smoothly along with After effects. But in After effects the ram preview takes a long time due to the fact that the laptop only has a 2Gb ram. If you going to be doing editing and photography I suggest get a better laptop with more ram, storage, and a faster processor. But overall this laptop covers the basics. Pleases with the purchase. But I will be upgrading laptops and leaving this Compaq Presario to the side. RIP .

Good laptop for the price.
by micheller21 on October 21, 2011
Pros: Nice large keyboard, decent wrist rest, love the number key pad to the right, the wi-fi on/off switch, and the big display.
Cons: No web cam built in, the battery doesn't seem to last very long, and would like more memory (RAM) built in.
Summary: A decent computer for the home user who doesn't do a lot of gaming. My son watches a lot of You Tube on it without problems, the family does ...
Summary: A decent computer for the home user who doesn't do a lot of gaming. My son watches a lot of You Tube on it without problems, the family does web surfing, and it's great for home personal use using Office and other programs.
I didn't like the built-in mouse though, so we bought a small Logitech that works out better for us. I also have a small external hard drive that I store large programs, downloads, pictures, music and files on, and that seems to keep the hard drive running at optimal performance.

Summary: I was afraid I was going to get what I paid for--but this laptop has impressed me time and time again. I have bought and downloaded games that I thought may have been too large--never a problem. Always able to view videos and streaming usually with no issues. Has very good range for wifi.

Summary: This product is very beginner friendly, but also extremely basic. I have had this computer about a year and a half now. Its just about as beginner as it can get. I love having Windows Vista because I am very familiar with that program. However, it updates ALL the time, usually when shutting off the computer. My suggestion is to only buy this computer for somebody who needs it for just work or just school or one specific thing. I get so aggrivated with this computer because it just freezes for about 5 minutes before continuing with what I need done, usually several things at once.
