The good: The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 looks as good as any 13-inch ultrabook, with the added attraction of a 360-degree screen and a laptop body that can fold into a tent, stand, or slate.
The bad: Tablet mode leaves the keyboard exposed, and the Yoga 13 costs more than standard ultrabooks with similar components.
The bottom line: The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is a convertible touch-screen laptop/tablet that most importantly doesn't compromise the traditional laptop experience.

Wifi issues and cracked screen in less than 3 weeks.
by pylejerw on March 2, 2013
Pros: I can find no pros that outweight the cons.
Cons: Wifi issues from day one with difficulty connecting. It is not facile in connecting even when it works.
Feels like it has a sturdy build but screen cracked within 3 weeks while in my car, in a bag, in a case. Absolute crap build.Summary: In essence, I think this is a poorly built model. If the flexibility afforded by a yoga is met with fragility, then the computer is worthless. This is worthless.

I don't think I'd ever buy anything Lenovo again...
by aquerze on February 10, 2013
Pros: It was fun to learn to use Windows 8...
Cons: The storage on this system is bunk. They made an error in how they partitioned storage and even though they have a fix they didn't fix it for consumers, instead you have to fix it yourself... and that can F your computer...

Summary: I just bought the Lenovo yoga 13 core i5 128gb, 4gb memory, yesterday at Best Buy for $870 (10% off open item). As soon as I got it home I checked how much storage I had available of my 128gb. Only to find that there was only 60gb of storage in total with about 30 of that available for me to actually use. I was like ***? So I poured over Lenovo forums and found this article:
http://www.zdnet.com/lenovo-cleans-up-its-incredibly-messy-yoga-13-disk-layout-7000008379/
So since this was actually from Lenovo I ran the program. However, apparently since I forgot to run this program in admin mode it only half way repartitioned everything, so when I tried again as admin I had less than 10g of storage and not only could I not run the program but I couldn't even restore my computer to factory settings! Apparently you need 10gb to do that. Wow, used the one button recovery, tried everything. So this brand new 128gb computer is now rendered useless.
I ended up getting the yoga, my 2nd choice, because the surface pro was already sold out by 10:10am Saturday. Well, now I have to return this and get something that actually works.
This wasn't the only issue I had either. Plugging in my x-box controller to play games on the machine when the computer wasn't plugged in made me lose both touch screen and mouse capability. Sure enough Lenovo forums said this was an issue.
Other complaints about this computer is that the fan is always on. In fact the fan is always on but it isn't that loud.
Another annoying thing is that if you are using the yoga in tent mode the keyboard and touch screen aren't off like when its bent back 360 so I have had times I was doing stuff and then bam it went call crazy.
In the end I think I need a smaller form factor anyways. I really thought this computer was the best surface alternative but I think design and build quality issues makes it so I can't really
recommend it. -
The Lenovo Yoga is a great design - HYBRID
by mlbriggs on February 9, 2013
Pros: Fantastic design, Premium IPS display (1600x900), Truly best of both worlds (laptop & tablet) experience
Cons: Needs backlit keyboard, needs traditional Lenovo keyboard (Yoga has small Shift keys and misplaced PgUp PdDn), seemingly always on fan, needs more configuration options (currently only comes in two configurations, and BB only carries the lower end)
Summary: Overall this is a very well designed Ultrabook that functions very well both in laptop or tablet mode.

PROS:
I find the 13" display to be the sweet spot for laptops that allows true work to be done like editing Excel spreadsheets. The Premium IPS display is very bright and has great viewing angles with limited color washout.
CONS:
The keyboard is different. The Shift and Delete keys are about half the size of normal. The Backspace and End keys also fall into this same weird design. All of which makes typing more difficult than it should be. I wish that Lenovo would have simply ported over the keyboard from their Thinkpad lineup, say from the X1 Carbon. Minor irritation, but one that forces me to be mindful of my typing much more so than on other laptops.
I would highly recommend this laptop/tablet to anyone considering purchasing a Windows 8 device. Experiencing Windows 8 on the Lenovo Yoga has shown me what it is truly capable of being in both a enterprise and consumer environment. This is the perfect blend of both worlds in a single device. -
Best laptop I've ever had.
by chadWorkAcct on January 28, 2013
Pros: Super fast.
Battery Life: I can make it to lunch after leaving my power chord at home.
Screen: Crisp
EverthingCons: No backlit keyboard. Boo. But that is it.

It's pretty and comfortable, but it has several issues.
by ArcticKay on January 16, 2013
Pros: The texture on the inside the laptop (where you rest your wrists) is nice and soft, which is a bonus after using the metal Zenbook for a month.
Keyboard action is nice as well.Cons: Win8 causes programs to lag.
Touch Screen Gestures stopped functioning properly within a day.
Screen orientation constantly gets stuck.
On screen keyboard also had issues but thankfully fixed after windows update.Summary: I really wanted this laptop to work after two Zenbook UX31A's broke (their keyboards stopped working which Asus knows is an issue). I haven't had it for a ...
Summary: I really wanted this laptop to work after two Zenbook UX31A's broke (their keyboards stopped working which Asus knows is an issue). I haven't had it for a full 24 hours and I'm already having problems with the functions. Some of my dislikes (which I didnt list all of them) are caused by windows 8. I chose this laptop over a Samsung for the option to have a tablet in class (college), but I quickly realized that a 13" tablet looks ridiculous and websites/documents dont fit the screen right in any direction. It would only be good for videos. So I guess in the end, if you want to gamble on a laptop, get the Zenbook. It's a beautiful laptop, but after two replacements I had to call it quits. They were from two seperate bestbuy locations, and even Amazon has admitted that people are returning/exchanging them so often that they will just give money -back instead of keeping on the marry-go-round of denial. I guess I should have looked at the bad reviews for this one as well.
Where has all the quality gone? These companies must have too much money if they think such expensive prices aren't worth the quality. -
Not very robust, wifi issues

Summary: Purchased at Best buy. I strongly suggest you avoid buying from Lenovo directly since returns with them are nightmare (see their won forums). After use for one week I returned it. It is quite cumbersome as a tablet and underpowered with some show stopping flaws as a laptop. Most notably, the WiFi has amazingly bad range and slow speeds. That is really unacceptable in a device meant to travel.

Not bad, but better options are available. Dell XPS 12.
by sanman1998 on November 17, 2012
Pros: Good machine
Sturdy Feel
Good specsCons: Touch screen isn't very good
Keyboard is showing in tablet mode
Little bit too big as a tablet
Bad track pad
Can't show it to the person sitting opposite from me like the XPS 12.
Weird to change into tablet mode.
Takes more effort than it should.Summary: I returned it and bought the Dell XPS 12. Best thing I did. The Dell is way better in my opinion, and the keyboard is better as well. The Dell ...

Worth a try
by KillerTofu13 on October 30, 2012
Pros: The flexibility is really nice
Full size key board
Actually very light compared to other ultra booksCons: The track pad is below average
It doesn't come with the $70 sleeve/case
Lenovo Tech support is terribly
I think stuff is already in my keyboardSummary: Since Best Buy has 30 day return policy I might take it back. I enjoy the full ultrabook specs, however I'm already down to 30GB left out of 128. ...

Yikes, Keyboard exposed, Screen bouncy as a Trampoline.
by wise12u on January 22, 2013
Pros: Lenovo makes a solid product most of the time.
Cons: This keyboard is not as great os the past one I have experienced. The Screen is Bouncy
No Backlit keyboard
Keys exposed when in tablet mode.
Resolution could be Full HD
Track pad not up to snuff for Windows 8.
No core I7 I have seen available.Summary: I would never buy this horribly flawed laptop for all the cons I have listed above. What if you were in tablet mode with key down and someone spilled something ...
Summary: I would never buy this horribly flawed laptop for all the cons I have listed above. What if you were in tablet mode with key down and someone spilled something near it and flooded your keys. What if you set it on something the scratches the keys. Bouncing screen is annoying as my toddler shoving toys into my face.
