Summary: I chose to the get the Lenovo over the HP Envy x2 because of 2 things. 1, it was readily available and on sale (bought at staples with keyboard dock for $599) and 2, I read that performance was marginally better than the HP Envy x2. There are a few things that make me regret the purchase, but love the convenience. The keyboard dock is excellent in concept, but the touch pad is very very twitchy. I have tried everything to attempt to tweak the touch pad, but it is still a very poor experience. The keyboard flex is also so bad that it makes it difficult when I type. I type a lot, and that experience is very bad. However, I do have a Bluetooth mouse and a Microsoft arc keyboard that are awesome, but when using it as a laptop that is one of the worst parts. now for the good.
The performance of this device is awesome. I have a very efficient laptop and all I wanted was something that would be able to run some of my development software, office products, read my programming reference books and play music and then last for more than 8 hours. Well, this fits the bill and plying xbox live games is a plus, but not a necessity. Oh battery life is ridiculous with the added keyboard, I mean we are talking cell phone battery life at 12 hours (and that's tested). I am able to run my reference programming books while I continue development on software and also, download and use apps. Now, hard drive space may be a problem, but it has not served as a problem for me yet. I sync my hard drive data with my sky drive account so, my laptop has everything that I create on this tablet and there is no real need to store large amounts of data on this device, I use it as a thin client. I, however, would not recommend this device if you are looking for a laptop replacement, but if you are in the market for a tablet that does more than the i-pad or any android tablet, I would recommend the HP envy x2, but if it not available, get the Lenovo lynx.
