The good: The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 is the best-looking Atom Windows 8 tablet yet, and the optional keyboard dock is excellent. All-day battery life makes it great for travel.
The bad: The Tablet 2 is expensive, especially considering the small 64GB SSD, lack of USB 3.0, and generally slow Atom performance.
The bottom line: This Windows 8 tablet from Lenovo scores with great industrial design and battery life, but adding practically required accessories makes the ThinkPad Tablet 2 very expensive for what you get.

Everything I wanted in a tablet and more
by makan01 on February 1, 2013
Pros: Price, Win 8 Pro, Metro UI, Look & Feel, Thin, Light, Pen, USB, HDMI, SD XC, USB charging port, smooth and fast multitasking (5-10 apps running)
Cons: keyboard expensive, no cover available yet.

Summary: I love this tablet because it allowed me to hook it up right into my work environment without worrying about getting an app for this or an app for that. I installed MS-Office 2013 and I am using it with no issues in terms of performance. I connect to my appliances via a USB-2-Serial cable with no issues. The USB charging port means that you can use any micro USB cable to charge the tablet. The Pen allows me to use the Desktop with ease and it excels at taking hand written notes (hardly any lag). The SD XC slot allowed to extend the memory to 128GB. The Metro UI allows me to disconnect from work and use it like I used my Transformer or my wife's iPad. The XBOX SmartGlass app is great too. The back is smooth yet not slippery. It is very light, thin and comfortable to hold. The price was not bad either.
I wish the keyboard option was cheaper and I am always worried that I might drop or scratch it because I cannot find a cover for it that acts as stand. This means I have to always hold it when reading or working on it. I found a fix by buying Microsoft's Wedge keyboard that will also at as a Stand for the Tablet.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: The build quality on these devices is at best mediocre. The area around the front facing camera is not circular. The pen is of poor quality and very hard to manipulate.
Modern UI does't support using gestures with the pen. You have to use the scroll bars or grease up your screen.
The pen is highly inaccurate which makes using the scroll bars or the Retro UI much more difficult than necessary.
While I haven't had the wireless connection issues many users report, my wireless speeds are about half that of all my other devices on the same network.
The USB is only good for thumb drives or externally powered devices.
Windows 8 while showing signs of greatness has too many user inconsistencies. -
Best inking tablet, great keyboard, good battery life
by jimdoggie on February 7, 2013
Pros: --Very light, extended prn notetaking with wacom pen, smooth, no vectoring
--Best small keyboard for typing
--Right resolution--not too small but looks real sharp
--Fast enough for office, browsing, inking
--10 hour batteryCons: It is an atom processor noticed when installing and sometimes when scrolling, not at all problematic like other atom tablets of the past.
Summary: This is the tablet for inking--one I have waiting for a long time. I think tablets may just get better and better now---I want one this light with Wacom digitzer ...

The best buisness tablet I have used or seen.

Pros: Full blown Win 8 Pro, Metro UI, Look & Feel, it is thin and Light, the Pen and writing experince is excellent, USB, HDMI, SD XC, USB charging port, and good battery life. A real business tablet not a consumer tablet.

Summary: I have been using the Lenovo Tablet 2 for 4 weeks now, mainly at work and on the train to work. This tablet is the best business tablet I have used or seen as it runs full windows 8 and full office(including OneNote) plus it has a pen (great for taking notes in meetings), it is a good size and weight, it makes a very good electronic notebook. It is easy touse as little changes from using your PC, even Windows 8 Metro UI works well once to get used to it. It also runs kindle, plays music/videos in any format out of memory or off a USB drive, plays games just like any other consumer tablet. For now I think it is the perfect mix of a PC and consumer tablet all in one device.
