The good: The ThinkPad Twist has great Lenovo construction, a responsive touch screen, and a center hinge for flipping into tablet mode, all for a very reasonable price.
The bad: The screen accelerometer can have a mind of its own, flipping into portrait view randomly. Battery life is merely OK, and the screen resolution is low for a modern laptop/tablet convertible.
The bottom line: Slightly less conservative-feeling than the average ThinkPad, the well-made ThinkPad Twist offers one of the better tablet modes from the first wave of Windows 8 convertibles.

Summary: Got mine from Staples for $799 and I consider this good value at that price. The build quality is excellent - rubberized black matte finish over aluminum means tough and light but no scratches and not cold. Excellent keyboard, solid hinge for swivel screen, makes a really nice tablet for cramped spaces like plane seats and is equally good for reports and even editing quick HD video clips in the hotel room.
Some reviews talk about the slow benchmark speeds for the GPU so I was surprised to see this portable performing comparably to my Dell Precision that has an Nvidia GPU that was twice the price of the entire Thinkpad.
Install all the available updates when you get it. This will fix the screen rotation issue (instructions say wait ten seconds after start up and this solves most problems) and the sometimes odd mouse behavior. These are very minor issues.
Speakers stink but sound is fine out of headphone jack. I go through a lot of computers in my line of work so usually view them all as strictly hardware, but I think I'm going to become attached to this little beauty.
Pros: Twist feature, control, click of the mouse pad, typing
Cons: Mouse has a mind of its own at times, takes too long to rotate screen sometimes, no user changeable battery
Summary: Overall, I like this laptop because of the durability and functionality. New features is what I was going for and that is what I got. Was happy with my purchase!
