Pros: The computer is really tough...but if it breaks, forget it. I bought three supplemental warranties, and they still refused coverage. Touchscreen is good on the road.
Cons: Panasonic Customer Service is non-existent. I spent many hours "on hold" and haggling, and waited nearly a month before Panasonic finally warrantied service on my toughbook.

Summary: Panasonic Toughbook is new to consumer support--the vast part of their sales have been to armed services, emergency response, and institutional customers...They have not developed their customer assistance program, essentially at all.
I spend a lot of time on the road. So, i wanted a computer that would not break. If my computer breaks, i want it fixed as quickly as possible. The toughbook comes with a strong standard warranty. But i did not want to have to worry at all. So i bought pretty much every available warranty...
$250.00 Protection Plus Warranty Upgrade (Years 1-3) plus i purchased the $180.00 Toughbook Premier 3 Year Service Upgrade and i also purchased the $175.00 3-Year On-site Service.
Panasonic lost the records for my warranty purchase. Panasonic refused to cover "accidental damage" saying that only "incidental, non-intentional" damage was covered. Panasonic sells through third-party resellers, so, i had to contact the retailer, and convince them to haggle with Panasonic on my behalf... After weeks of haggling, Panasonic sent me a new computer.(which was really really great) but in the end, not worth all the time I spend waiting "on hold".
The touch screen is good on the road. The mouse is nearly useless--i bring a cheep laser mouse with me, which makes things much easier. The keyboard is tiring--But so what?, the computer really is tough...you can spill stuff on it, and wash it off, you can drop it off a table without worrying...but if something big falls on it, don't bother calling them. Buy two Dells with Extra Care on site service, swap out hard drives, and spend five days at a luxury hotel--then buy a toughbook next year when Panasonic figures it out. I would not have minded spending the Seven thousand dollars this computer cost, if Panasonic had been able to service their warranty.
