The good: The 11-inch Sony Vaio E has a sharp design at a budget price, plus decent graphics and good battery life.
The bad: This 11-inch laptop is thicker and heavier than many 13-inch models. The slow CPU isn't for everyone.
The bottom line: With only a handful of 11-inch laptops still available, serious travelers are flocking to ultrathin 13-inch models instead. But the low price and good battery life of the Sony Vaio E keep it from being counted out.

Summary: I bought the computer in April. I began seeing freezing problems by August, and in October the mother board failed. Essentially, I got six months of use out of it. This was a second computer, with relatively low use. I would compare this with my antique Dell laptop that I have had for about 10 years, including a year of being carried in a rucksack in Iraq, and which continues to chug along. I can't attest to the overall reliability of Sony, but the only other person in my circle whom I know who has a Vaio has also had major reliability issues with it. Based on a very small sample, I'd say find a laptop made by someone else.
Pros: Small and portable, 500GB HD although slow, decent processor.
Cons: Poor battery life if you are using wi-fi or watching videos. Slow Hard Drive 5400 rpm. Not enough memory.

Summary: Basically, like the Editor said in his review this is a good laptop for travel or just to have for web surfing or watching some videos. I have no idea how game play would be because I don't play games online. I would recommend if you do buy this to upgrade the memory or even install a SSD for a faster boot up and possibly increase the speed in downloads from music or other sites. And also I would upgrade the security software to Norton 360 or some other well know security software. And uninstall any software you think you would not use.
