Summary: I can say after having owned this unit for a week, that I am thoughly satisfied with it. Performance is great, I have used it for gps guidance, email, word processing, internet browsing. I think Sony did a great job with the details. The unit is light weight, thanks to the carbon fiber shell. I would have liked the option of additional memory upgrades, but the 512Meg that is resident does a pretty good job of feeding the processor. Battery life is not bad, the option of a larger battery is appealing, but the $350 price for the upgrade gives a little sticker shock. I personally am happy with the unit. It accomplishes all that I have thrown at it so far.

Summary: This device has about the problems as a transgendered person; it's a laptop computer stuck in the body of a PDA. I live in Tokyo and I went to the Sony tech building a week ago, which boasts most of sony's new upcomping products, and this was a terrible device. The thing is quite cool for its quirky look, but once you start to use it, you'll prob want to save that $1k+ and just buy a palm. The little "mouse stick" thingy is really annoying. Its flat and wide unlike the ones people are common with on their PDA's, and to make it even worse, if your sick of the stick thingy and wanna use your fingers? forget it. They will prob be too big to do anything. Not to mention that screen freaks me out, and I mean in terms of fragility. Sony screens from my experiance in the past tend to break very easily if used in certain ways, and I'm not talking about blatant drops. But honestly, save that $1600 your were planning on spending on this horrendous device, and pray that with all of sony's current problems, the PS3 will be they're savior.

Summary: THIS THING IS JUNK. WHILE ITS WELL MADE THE ONLY REASON TO BUY ONE OF THESE IS TO MAKE SURE YOU SCREW UP YOUR EYESIGHT. I SAW THE UNIT AT MY LOCAL FRYS AND TRIED IT OUT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THATS ALL I COULD TAKE AS I STARTED TO DEVELOP A MAJOR HEADACHE FROM SQUINTING TRYING TO SEE THE SCREEN AND WHAT IT SAID. I USED THE ZOOM BUTTON AND THEN I HAD TO NAVIGATE MY WAY AROUND THE SCREEN AND STARTED TO GET DIZZY. EVEN MY TREO SCREEN IS EASIER TO READ THAN THIS THING. I DONT SEE SONY SELLING A LOT OF THESE. NOT WORTH THE PRICE! COME ON SONY, YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. I'M GONNA BUY THE SAMSUNG UMPC... BETTER SCREEN OR AT LEAST ITS READIBLE FOR US MEER MORTALS...
