Beautiful screen, very quick, quick wireless connection

Pros: beautiful screen resolution, almost instant on and off, performs quickly and responsibly. Wireless internet connection is very quick. windows 7 is nice. I am not an expert the i3 intel core is very quick.
Cons: mouse jumps around to much. it is nice to be able to shrink and expands your picture using the mouse but I think this causes the mouse to jump around. Still working with adjusting the mouse.
Summary: I have ownned, hp and dell. My friends own toshiba, they have all been happy for a long time. So far I am also very happy.

Excellent value for the money

Pros: Never seemed to get too hot. Well built and not unwieldy, which I normally expect from a 17"+. Plenty of flexibility, and runs like a champ. For the gamers, runs WoW at high settings with a 62FR.
Cons: The 3.7h battery life is stretching it a bit. I feel the 12-cell battery should have been standard. For people with little computer experience, setup might be a little bit of a pain. Ports are in strange places, and no media controls.

Runs benchmark tests well and never seemed to get too hot, even while sitting on my lap for extended periods of time.
Sound is clear although a bit low in volume.
The Toshiba apps are concise without turning into bloatware. I do like how pressing the Function key brings up a GUI of most Fn commands.
Surprisingly light and thin for a 17.3", yet built rather solid with a nice weight distribution.
DVD/Streaming video is flawless with very little motion blur, and the backlight is very consistent.
The complaints I've heard about the touchpad buttons being flimsy are unfounded. They are clean, steady and give a great tactile response.
I also really like that one of the USB ports doubles as a SATA port.
The Bad: The 3.7h battery life is misleading. The best I have from full charge is 3:41, wifi off, doing spreadsheet work. Just having the WiFi connected drops that down about 20 minutes. I will eventually be purchasing the PA3819U-1BRS 12-cell battery, which I feel should have been standard.
Setup could be much better; and the documentation is inadequate at best, confusing at worst. Windows 7 doesn't help much either.
The way it opens forces all the ports to the sides, which detracts from the clean look when plugged into devices. For example, the ethernet plug is adjacent to the left Ctrl. Otherwise it's not too bad.
Mixed feelings/Wish list: The touchpad has a very clean look, is very responsive, and doesn't hold fingerprints; however if you're used to using the scroll capabilities it's very easy to miss the edge because of the lack of edge lines, especially since the 10-key throws it off-center.
I would really like to see the separate playback controls that are standard on most laptops, or at least volume control. Took me a few minutes to find the volume controls (Fn 3 & 4 for volume, Fn Esc for mute btw).
Overall Thoughts: This is a great laptop for the price. I got mine at Costco for $100 off retail, free shipping and they also automatically extend the manu warranty for one year.
Runs like a champ, looks great and most of my concerns are minor aesthetic.
