This is as close to the perfect compact tripod as you can get. I needed a tripod for my digital video cam as well as my digital SLR. I'm using a compact SLR (Canon XTi) with IS zoom lenses and works great. Still/video setting allows for use as a pan/tilt head with my video cam -- very nice. No knobs to mess with when changing head position -- locks with just a trigger press. Adjustable leg angle allows ground-level shots, and can turn column upside-down for macro shots. Very small and very stable -- very high-quality. And it's a steal around $75! Wish it came with 2nd quick-release plate -- could leave on both video & still cam (so far cannot find extra plate anywhere). Read more
