The good: Fast, versatile, and easy to use; top-notch support site.
The bad: Expensive; drivers required; problematic imaging software; phone support expires with warranty.
The bottom line: Though it's very expensive per megabyte, Iomega's Rev drive offers speedy, portable storage that's more scalable than that of a hard drive.
Having once cornered the removable-storage market with the Zip and Jaz drives, Iomega is hoping for a comeback with the Iomega Rev. This USB 2.0 drive (an internal model is also available) was designed with data backup, drive imaging, and extra storage in mind, much like the drives that preceded it. The difference here is that each Rev cartridge stores a whopping 35GB--or quite a bit more if you use compression. (Iomega promises up to 90GB per cartridge, but that's at an extremely high level of compression, so your mileage may vary.) The Iomega Rev is compact, cute, and bootable, and it provides an undeniably appealing alternative to tape drives. Extra Rev cartridges give it the potential for limitless capacity. Still, it's expensive. You could buy a 160GB external hard drive for half the price and enjoy more than four times the raw storage capacity. We also have concerns about relying on as yet unproven media for something as vital as our data backup (the Zip drive's infamous Click of Death lingers in our memories).

Great Drive - Fast and Smooth
Pros: Removable Media for potentially unlimited media. Fast enough to run most programs right off the drive itself. Backs up with no compression for true data to data restore.
Cons: My biggest gripe/con, is that the software that comes with it for backup does "NOT" run as a service in the back ground. Meaning, you "Log Off" the server and it will still run a scheduled job at night. I have found a way around this using the NTBackup

If the automatic scheduler would configure would be perfect
Pros: Robust, long life storage on media, easy recovery of individual files.
Cons: Automatic Backup software is not easily understood and has glitches. Two experienced IT support types can't configure it yet.

Better than Tape
Pros: I trust Iomega and love the drive, it's compactness, and the expandability with the drives so I can toss my older JAZZ drives (1GB max) and use these 35GB beauties.
Cons: I'm highly dissapointed that Norton Ghost is completely unusable with laptops. The primary reason I bought this was to back up my laptop and Ghost will not work on them due to hardware issues. Highly dissapointed that I have to search for another alterna

Great product, where's the firewire?
Pros: having removable media with this capacity is an absolute godsend. Although Optical CD/DVD drives have their place and the media is really cheap. In the longrun I've found that CD's can cost more as I often don't use all the space. rev disks allow me to
Cons: Firewire please.

Faster than tape and more reliable
Pros: Faster and more reliable than tape but with tape removability and Iomega proven reliability. Despite all the rubbish spoken by journalists about "click of death", Iomega claim to have sold about 55 million Zip drives and I or anybody I know have never had
Cons: I don't see any. Yes! it's a new technology but I know Iomega are going to be here to support it and you only have to look at this product to know it's going to be around in the years to come. Maybe there will be some teething issues but this is the PC in
