Pros: Variety on the battlefield. Excellent team play.

Summary: Great game with a great future but it's not quite there. Video performance is a must if you are going to ADD to the Battlefield enterprise. However, EA has done a great with even at the lowest settings. The controls are classic. By knowing just a few of the key commands you can storm the battlegrounds with confidence. For those more serious you can control just about every aspect of the game. Team play is brought to a new level with the incorporation of squads - you can track your squad members and spawn at your commander. The varity of kits, mounted weapons and vehicles keeps things fresh. The command menu screams "who needs cheats - each team has its own all knowing". Downsides: Launching the game is painful; there are too many company signatures. No auto log-in feature. The game browser powered by GameSpy is horrid. EA is overly protective of their game.

Best all round 1st person shooter ever.
by M1-Lightning on August 5, 2005
Pros: Awards recognition, 64 players on one map and still no lag.
Cons: Can't think of anything. It's too addictive maybe?

Summary: I am shocked at the versatility of this game. It's one big capture the flag game with several flags to defend and take. I can hop in a tank, jeep, dune buggy, APC, tranport helicopter, attack helicopter, attack jet, fighter/bomber or a boat. I can parachute out of a plane or off a building. I can be the commander of a 30 man army issuing orders to several squads while providing them supplies, artillery support, and UAV radar. I can be a squad leader issuing orders to up to five men who can respawn near me when they die. I can be a sniper, medic, engineer, special forces, assault, or support infantry. I can pick up a dead player's weapon and swap it with the one I have. Medics can actually revive dead players. Simply Amazing.

Best Game Ever!

Summary: This game is the best I have ever played. It is fun and you feel a real sense of accomplishment when you get medal and ribbins not to mention an increase in rank. That gives you priority over other players to be commander. The game is still a bit buggy but patches are fixing that. And the requirements will bring your pc down to it's knees, higher than that of doom 3. you really gotta double the requirements. I got a 3ghz P4 1GB RAM nvidia 5950 Ultra 256MB yet I can only run the game on medium settings. This is with a $500 top of the libne card that is only 2 years old. YOu nned a geforce 6 series or better or the ATI equivalent to run this game with all the bells and whistles. It;s still the best game I ever played and after it gets patched it will rock!

Hell of a sequel...
by Phillip Ruffin on July 25, 2005
Pros: Intense combat, great graphics engine, addictive.

Summary: I love this game. I play it every night when I get home from work. It's sucking my social life away. But then when I start playing it, I have some gripes that will hopefully be fixed in an update or mod pack. One, there are no server favorites. This is on of my biggest gripes. Two, the bugs in this game can be downright frustrating. Three, you get tapped with a vehicle, and that spells instant death. Besides those problems, the game is VERY fun to play. I like it because it's modern combat, even though I'm a WWII buff. The game is very balanced and that's a big plus.
Earning ranks and medals and ribbons give you a feeling of gratification when they are received. The game keeps an intense amount of stats. From kits used, to maps played, to how many kills you got with a grenade launcher. The online play can vary from a very dull match, nobody doing much capture attempts, to full fledge combat where you need someone using each kit available. I definitely recommend this game. HIGHLY!!! -
The greatest online war battle game ever.
by MBroudy on July 17, 2005
Pros: Realistic combat. Superb vehicle dynamics. Total immersion. Online ranking system. Squad/commander system. Integrated VOIP.
Cons: Slow load times. Difficult to determine how to score team points.
Summary: The greatest online combat game to date, and probably for a long time to come.

Summary: This is the best fps I have played in a long time. It has some of the best graphics I have seen on a game. The only thing is the my computer came with a Ati Radeon 9200 and i couldn't play it on that graphics card because EA chose not to support it and didn't even put on the system requirments that it didn't play it. Besides that the game is awesome.

Summary: I bought the 6200 Nvidia graphics card, but I still had to play the game on some of the lowest graphics. The multiplayer seems to have a large amount of lag. The action never slows and it is possible to turn the tide of the battle fairly simply.
Specifications
- Manufacturer: Electronic Arts Inc.
- Part number: 14930
- Description: The award-winning Battlefield franchise invades the high-tech frontlines of modern warfare in the new sequel, Battlefield 2. The game brings the intensity and excitement of Battlefield 1942 into the modern era with enhanced teamplay and the latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and weapons systems available to man. In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 64 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC. Additionally, persistent character growth allows players to rise through the ranks and attain the ultimate rank of General. An all-new game engine and physics system brings the modern battlefield to life like never before. The new material penetration feature measures weapons' ability to fire through barriers based on their composition and players will need to know the difference between concealment and cover in order to survive. Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-to-player ratio and an optimized gameplay experience. Enhanced teamplay features allow players to enter the action on the frontlines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their teammates. Soldier kits now affect vehicles that players utilize on the battlefield. For instance, the medic kit can transform a vehicle into a mobile aid station and the support kit can make helicopters into flying ammo dumps.
