Cons: EXTREMELY taxing on your system, features like Night Vision nearly nauseating, before you can even play online, you have to downlaod a 280mb patch.

Summary: I told myself I wasn't going to buy the expansion for BF2, and in theory I didn't, it was purchased for me by somebody who hadn't apparently heard me complain about the lack of support EA gives its gaming community.
So I installed it.. But like any other EA game you can't just play it out of the box, you have to get online, and make sure its current (This one wont be). Much to my dismay the patch required to make this game function online was 280mb. That is dang near a whole game in itself.
Well you'd think with all the information EA has received from the BF2 community that some of the most troublesome bugs would be covered in that 280mb. But you'd be wrong.
That list of bugs would include:
- Players showing up as enemy - The C4 glitch (which I wont explain for fear of it being spread) - Excessive memory demands (During an Alt+Tab this game was sucking down a whopping 533mb of memory while running, and that was just THIS game)
The new vehicles if you can call them that are rather difficult to control. The jet-ski is cool, as long as you're the only person on the server, because you're so exposed on it, you'll never make it anywhere if there is opposition, not to mention it doens't take a lot to get it to blow up underneath you.
The new maps are like rat mazes, so don't expect a nice big shootout, but rather, a frustrating time of figuring out exactly where you are.
To add further insult to injury, those players who do not have the expansion pack can still play on normal BF2 servers, as can those who have the expansion along with all the new weapons. So.. original version players are now subjected to a plethora of new weapons they can't select, but can be killed by.
Finally the night vision.. well its almost too real. You can't get very good depth preception so chances of you falling to your death are elevated substantially. Keep in mind you're constantly blinded by lighting on the map which is spread out in a most inconvinient way.
Overall if you enjoy frustration.. You'll love this game. If your PC could barely handle BF2.. this game is NOT for you AT all.
Pros: New weapons, mostly ground man to man fighting
Cons: Not many aircraft, but still fun

Summary: For all of the BF2 fans that constantly play Strike at Karkland this expansion is for you. There are not as many vehicle, especially aircraft. The new weapons are pretty good, especially flashbang grenades. If you are one of the few that enjoys being a sniper like me, this is heaven.
