Pros: Lots of fun early on, plenty of different things to do, good choice of cars, good soundtrack
Cons: Some races are unnecessarily difficult while others remain way too easy, game has unreliable crash detection system, doesn't warn for turns early enough

Summary: The game is great, but has a few issues that make it not very fun later on. Biggest issue I've noticed is the unreliable crash detection. The same crashes can have wildly different results, and some crashes have the opposite expected effect (head-on collision, slight damage. Scrape against a bus, wrecked.). Not only that, but the game also detects when the player or NPC causes the wreck, resulting in a takedown, though this is also unreliable as I have been awarded takedowns for wrecks I didn't cause, and have been taken down when no other racers are anywhere nearby. This is a major issue later in the game, when getting takedowns and being able to tell if a certain maneuver will cause a wreck can mean the difference between first place or last place. This only leaves the option of being super cautions, which is almost always a loosing strategy (especially since the whole burnout series is based around NOT driving cautiously)...
Also, later on, almost all of the races get insanely difficult. I say almost, because there is a race mode called "marked man" where the goal is to reach a destination without getting completely totaled. Every marked man race is easily winnable by simply choosing a slow, tank-like vehicle and lumbering along to the goal since the AI is rarely able to cause you to wreck (or really cause anything at all, since some of the vehicles are so heavy they can shrug off most of the AI's attempts at causing a wreck without so much as a shift in lanes).
Another thing I don't like is how the game switches to an "action" camera angle during crashes or takedowns. There should be an option to turn that off. There have been several times when I have taken down an opponent, so the camera shows them wrecking, then when it comes back to my vehicle I'm heading right for a car or wall with no time to react, causing me to wreck as well. And since a wreck can take up to ten seconds to recover from (when most races last less than two minutes), this is a significant oversight.
Great game, but has too many issues later on that make it not enjoyable. The issues the game has are fairly minor, but happen often enough that they are a severe hindrance to enjoyment when the difficulty curve starts to go up.
Pros: Open world is a hoot! The in-game audio runs the gamut (and has actually helped me discover some artists and music I hadn't heard before). Rock, metal and classical music in the same game, and none is out of place. Rare air, that.
Cons: Sluggish (at times) load times (however, this is likely due to my having a slower SATA hard drive that hasn't been defragged; the drive is the oldest component of my current setup).
