Summary: The AI Director of the game make is very interesting to play. each time they come for different director and in different numbers. The hunter and the smoker zombie are the best onces according to me. They hunter can come from any side and attack, and each time I have played they had me surprised.
The 4 Survivors have to stick together, help each other out, revive each other, heal each other, protect each other, pull them up if they are hagning from the lede or if they are Incapacitated. You can't leave you team members behind and go around shooting.
This game used the source engine, the graphcis are great, the lighting effects and music enchace the game play. I still have to play on-line , so far I was nto bale to connect to the steam servers, nto sure if it becuase of my internet connection speed or something.
Over all this is a ncie game, and certainly has replay value.

Great game but repetitive.
by chuckupman on February 4, 2009
Pros: Unique aproach to levels (has different movies instead of levels) the AI director makes the game very fun. multiplayer is great, and explosive gameplay.
Cons: limited selection of guns, no zoom in, only four levels, only allowed to equip one bomb at a time.
Summary: This is a great game that will give you countless hours of entertainment, that is if you dont mind playing on the same levels again and again. Multiplayer is addicting ...

Summary: This is a great game that will give you countless hours of entertainment, that is if you dont mind playing on the same levels again and again. Multiplayer is addicting and playing as a zombie is really fun. There are better games that have came out this year but this one definatly stands out of the crowd. I would recommend you rent it if you dont have xbox live, but if you do you should buy this game.

Summary: i bought this game to play with friends, which is super fun. however playing with random people can get old fast. i sucked at versus mode at 1st so i avoided it, but since ive beat the co-op mode i tried it out and now its super fun. its really easy to set up a lobby to join a server (i really like this feature!), but sometimes the server sucks so you need to start over.

This was a fun and unique game
by acitodg on January 29, 2009
Pros: I really like the team work aspects of this game. The graphics and movie style game play were also very cool.
Cons: I feel like I got bored of the game after playing it awhile.
Summary: I would recommend the product in general to anyone looking for a new game to try.

The Zombie Apocolypse is NOW!
by jmartinbsu on December 2, 2008
Pros: Constantly changing game dynamics with AI DIrector; Challenges players to actually work together; replayability; Visual and audio queues of impending doom.
Cons: Demands for team co-op play means that when 1 player goes off on their own they are usually screwed & the rest of the players have to work harder to rescue/find them/protect them. Friendly Fire is a pain on Expert (quit strafing while firing people!)
Summary: This is better than 28 days later. Play the game....survive.

L4D - Best Valve bundle pack game ever.
by Thirdrail1 on November 23, 2008
Pros: Great graphics. Solid gameplay. Genuinely requires teamwork.
Cons: Uninspired setting. Only 4 maps. No more of a "complete game" than Portal or Team Fortress.

Summary: From a technical standpoint, Left 4 Dead is top notch Valve game design, as slick and functional as anything the makers of Counter Strike have ever released. The weapons are well balanced and the coop play is a lot of fun. It's probably the most comfortable and well implemented 4 player co-op game since Gauntlet. Which is also L4D's biggest problem.
This game IS first person Gauntlet with only four levels. The versus multiplayer is fun, but extremely limited (and weighted heavily towards the zombies), and the real meat of the game - the 4 player co-operative mode - isn't much more expansive.
Luckily, it's Valve (darlings of the mod community) and it's a pc game. Assuming the normal pc first person shooter lifespan, including tons of mods and user generated levels, this will go from being an excellent start to a full blown game. As it exists presently, it feels more like the star of the Orange Box 2 than a full blown game. If you compare the overall level of content to something like Call of Duty 5, Fallout 3, or Europa Universalis, and it seems odd that L4D was released as a full price, stand alone product.
