Summary: The game has a few pros. I love the side view behind the wing, this is great. I also like the added functionality in the virtual cockpit view. Unfortunately these features do not outweight the high demand for processing power that is required. Personally I dont know anyone who is running it smoothly. Seems to me that you need the entire NASA computer system to run the stuff to an acceptable level of realism. I have gone back to FS2004 version. With the added processing power and video card I purchased it has made fs2004 really scream, and I am happy with that version i lieu of FSX

It really sucks
by Red Baron1 on March 16, 2007
Pros: very detailed in the worst areas
Cons: Too much of the wrong stuff

The game requires a very good graphics card and a ton of memory.
I paid 79.00 and wish I hadn't wasted my money.

Summary: no one will deny the game looks great but you do need a lot of processing power to run everything. I would like to see microsoft add an update that would allow for a dual core chip to run the game using both cores, maybe one for background stuff or weather, while the other run the forground graphics.
also i am looking forward to seeing how it looks with a directx 10 card. right now i have a pentium d 820, 512 mb card and 1 gb of ram and it plays well, though i am using a 32" monitor as well. if there was ever a reason to upgrade some of your hardware, this is the sim to do it for.

Summary: Every FS product has been too wrapped up in parameter choices and graphics at the expense of flyability. They have always been WAY too slow to respond to control inputs to make them enjoyable. There are too many other good products out there to waste your money on this one. Avoid the frustration, go elsewhere.
