I also would like to add that the Life Upgrades in this game, is a stupidity for me and it is not even necessary for me to win against all the boss with higher strength meter. I am very disappointed that the game designers obligate players to have all the life upgrades in order to get the so-called "water sword" and have a good ending. How the heck am I suppose to know that all Life Upgrades were necessary for water sword and they were all obligatory? For me, it is optional and it is pure stupidity. Only noobs need more strength meter to finish the game but I don't. The game designers are making excuse for the players to go back and play the same crap again so that the game would be longer. Anyway, I would not definitely go back and try to get all the life upgrades since I am not the kind of person who would go back and going through the same crap or "pain in the neck" places that I had already gone through. I am done with this episode and I will move on to the next episode. Period.

Cons:
-The audio bug during cutscene.
-The bug that caused the Library's door to fail to open after killing all the ninja swordmens and getting the "Scorpion Sword". Behind the door, there are also some trapped ninjas because the door failed to open. I cannot go inside the door as well as the enemies cannot come out. I got stuck for 30 minutes, trying to figure how to exit.
-The "slow-motion time" bug which caused the game to go slowing after loading a saved game at a particular point in game. However I managed to fix it by restarting my PC for 3 times.
-This game has some problems with fighting system. Sometimes, it does not matter how good you fight because you can still get hit since the AI can read your moves which is just like cheating by AI. This is the kind of game that "getting hit" is inevitable since sometimes it is impossible to avoid getting hit by fast enemies' attacks and "not dieing" is also impossible. The auto-aiming system could doom the Prince during the fight rather than helping him. The Prince is also too slow to fight certain enemies especially the Empress and the Empress' Red Crowguards. Sometimes, when the Prince make the first strike to the Empress, he was hit by the Empress first because the Empress is too fast for the Prince and blocking was impossible and it wasn't also only 1 hit by the Empress but a combo attack! The enemies made illegal move/attacks which is too fast for the Prince to block and even if the Prince is blocking, he would still get hit on the leg and even if the Prince is jumping away from enemies, he could still be hit as well. That was ridiculous and can drive me crazy. As a duty as a player, I must make a quick first strike to an enemy but if making first strike would cause myself to get hit then I don't know how to do it better. The AI enemies like Empress is too fast and she can read your future moves. (Funnily, the Empress really said that in her speech) When can I avoid getting hit by enemies??? Never, it was impossible in these kind of scenarios. The Prince also became immobilized when he strike a wall or a blocking enemy which would waist his time and allow the enemies to hit him back. Having 100% of strength is like having only 30% of strength because the enemies like Empress can kill the Prince in only 3 combo strikes which made the fight unfair and too difficult even on NORMAL MODE. Basically, my strength was robbed on purpose and exagerrately went down too much after getting hit once or twice by enemy. The enemies' combo attack was very annoying. I think that the game fighting system is kinda unfair because the AI are still poorly design so the game designers had to make it unfair in order for it to be more challenging to players and that sucks.
-There is no little medikit or there is no bottle of mineral water. Sometimes, the Prince could easily get thirsty during the fight. ;)
-This game also has problems with camera view and control. When the camera's angle view was automatically changed, the control x, y axis would also be change or inverted which would confuse the players and bringing the Prince to his doom. Sometimes, I had to use mouse to change camera view in order to see the enemy or the path direction while I was using gaming joypad. I wish that the camera view would automatically view what is in front of the Prince while he is moving forward.
-The map is too small so the game designers allow players to use Time portal as an excuse in order to make the map look bigger as well as making the game much longer and the players had to go into same places but at different time frame again and again. Despite that the places were a little bit changed when the Prince used the Time Portal but this just made the game boring because you had to go to the same places again and again but only at different time frame.
-Sometimes, the camera is also used for cinematic purpose rather than for gaming or for usefulness.
-Too many repititive/same enemies. Sometimes, there are too many annoying enemies which made the fight kinda too difficult and annoying such as those dark girls, as if they wanted to rape the Prince.
-Why would the Prince have to worry about his fate since he could use the Sands of Time ability to avoid death and that is what I normally used to avoid reloading the entire game and bringing Prince back to life???
Conclusion:
Well, this is a good game that you had to try. You don't wanna miss this game but I do admit that the storyline of the fist episode: The Sands of Time is better than this one. I will give it a 7.5 to 7.8 rating. It is still worth to play this game and to past my time. It was a shame that there are still these issues because otherwise this game could have been much better.

Updated on Jun 24, 2009Now, I understand why the game kinda exaggerated about the Prince's fate like saying that the Prince will die at the end because it was his fate. This is because the game designers knew that most players are not going to get all the Life Upgrades at the end since they bet that most of us do not even care about the life upgrades but that would come with consequence like not being able to get the water sword and have a good ending. It is like, if we don't please the game designers then we or the Prince will die at the end.
Hence, the game designers did it on purpose. What a stupidity!
PS: It would be great if the game mission could mention about getting all secret life upgrades as obligatory in order to get water sword and have a happy ending but it did not. That's a shame on game designers' part... :(
Updated on Jun 24, 2009PS: I would recommend to those who does not have all the life upgrades to use game cheats in order to get all the life upgrades for the water sword at the end because this would save your time rather than waisting time and going through those craps and trying to get all life upgrades. It is not our fault because we did not know about this until we read the walkthrough about all life upgrades which would allow water sword at the end. It is not worth to waist our time with this stupidity.
Thanks for reading and Good Luck!
Updated on Jun 26, 2009Today I've finished this game and I've seen 2 endings. I think that the first ending is more reasonable and made more sense because that is the way it should end. Despite many said that it was a bad ending but for me, it was not really bad because it also has a good part to it like the Prince was still alive and Dahaka had left the Prince alone. Dahaka was doing what he was meant to do. Dahaka was after the Prince because he wanted the amulet of Sands of Time back and the Empress belongs to the past and she was suppose to be dead long time ago but the Prince brought her to the present, trying to defy her fate and his own fate and that is the reason to Dahaka's existence. Dahaka is a guardian of nature's timeline, when somebody violate/disrupt the nature's timeline or somebody tries to cheat their death then Dahaka will intervene. Despite that the old wise man said that no man can change their fate, the second ending showed Dahaka was actually mortal and failed which did not make sense.
Updated on Jun 26, 2009If the first ending was bad then the Prince should have died but that did not happen at all. Dahaka has the right to exist too and have its own reason.
The second ending was kinda weird and stupid because it made the story look more stupid; the story turned out to be about a Prince going into the past not really to defy his fate but to rescue an evil beautiful Empress and bring her to the present so that he can have an affair with her and Dahaka was destroyed forever so nobody will be in charge of guarding the timeline again. That doesn't make much sense. It was just like going back in time to see somebody like your Grandmother when she is still young and alive and you brought her to the present then you have an affair with her. What kind of a story and ending are that?? That's just plain stupid. The only difference between 1st ending and 2nd ending are just the Empress and Prince are having a porno time on their ship but their fate still cannot be change even if Dahaka was defeated.
Updated on Jun 26, 2009Originally the story was already kinda boring and it was about the Prince who goes back into the past to defy his fate,to avoid death and then he met the Empress who also wanted to defy her fate too since she does not want to die. So they both fought against each other because they both don't want to die and then Dahaka was going after the Prince because the Prince was using the amulet Sands of Time. Ironically, the Empress got killed by the Prince because she attacked the Prince first.
If the Prince can travel into the future, then it would be better for him to go into the future to avoid the ugly events/plot in the story? How can the Prince and Empress know about their death since they both never travel to the future before? The Empress saw her death in timeline, despite, the Prince did not bring her to the present yet while there was no connection between future/present and past for the Empress.
That was a strange story and did not make much sense because it was kinda confusing.
Updated on Jun 26, 2009About the Slow Time Bug:
This bug did came back to bother me because it made the game goes slower than it really should. Restarting the PC would not help. However, I found out a way to fix this bug by deleting my SafeProfile.Dat file in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Prince of Persia Warrior Within\POPWWProfiles and replaced it with the one I downloaded from internet which belonged to free saved games from GameCopyWorld website. Perhaps, you can also let the game create a new SafeProfile.Dat file by yourself after deleting previous SafeProfile.dat, without having to replace the one from internet but I never tried that.
