One of the best Turn-Based Strategy games EVER.

Pros: Excelletn gameplay, virtually unlimited replay value and a massive array of technology and things to discover. Isometric graphics do the job well and overall the graphics aren't too bad considering the age of this title.
Cons: The sound is nothing special, but with a game as good as this, who needs etra sound, just stick a CD on if you want.

Pros: Addictive gameplay, pods, sea-bases, technologies, basically everything was great!
Cons: I honestly can't think of anything I don't like about it.

the best turn based stratagy game i ever played, apart from ASL

Pros: keeps your attention, good ai, set your own speed of play, may or may not be micromanaged (doesent affect gameplay).
Cons: average graphics, annoying music after a while, sucks up time like it was air.

- Description: The story for Alpha Centauri starts pretty much where the Civilization series left off. The Earth is polluted and severely damaged from generations of humanity grossly disregarding their heritage. Mankind is teetering on the brink of extinction and a desperate bid for survival compels man to attempt to flee among the stars and head to our nearest neighboring binary star, Alpha Centauri. As the colony ship travels to humanity's new home, something goes dreadfully wrong. A reactor core malfunction jeopardizes the survival of the colonists. With these problems a rift grows among the colonists, and soon seven distinct factions emerge. Each faction has their own idea of how best to survive on their new home, called Planet. Miraculously they manage to reach Alpha Centauri and each faction descends to the planet with their own colony pod and group of loyal colonists. Humanity's survivors are spread across the planet but are even further separated by their ideologies.
