Beutiful and elegant, but drives like a swiss car.

Pros: Excellent graphics and sounds. Very good story line.
Cons: Stupid controls, little in game options like mouse sensitivity or custom key settings, even the defiant drives like a 77 caddy.

Almost a Great Game

Summary: I wanted to love this game but there are just too many problems with it. The controls are poorly implemented, one key contains multiple selective functions instead of giving each action it own button, I found it easier to control the ships with the X-Box 360 controller for PC.
The game calls for some hefty PC requirements, strange considering there isn't much other than black space and the ships aren't THAT detailed.

Video was fairly choppy (probably because of my old CPU). This is a real great way to kick off Star Trek's 40th year! *rolls eyes*

I bought it anyway, and I am sorry that I did. The interactive selection screens are buggy and very frustrating. Once you get into the gameplay, if your nerves survive, it is entertaining. But, I was really looking forward to a game where I could develop a character and interact with other characters online...Too much to ask for Bethesda!?

Summary: I’ve been a Star Trek fan since I was old enough to remember. I was very happy to hear they were coming out with a game that allowed you to play as so many different ships. When I got the game and started playing it, the game load time wasn’t too bad. The game jumps a little and I have 1g of ram, a 6400 graphics card, and a 2.6g dual core processor. My best friend got it for us to play multi player. Don’t even bother. This game was so poorly designed that we can't see one another’s games even after following all online help. We have problems connecting to 5/7 games. The chat inside the games doubles letters so a hello will look like "hhelllo"...All in all, good graphics and some attention to detail. Worst multiplayer set up I have ever used, very hard controls to learn and understand, very poorly thought out in game menus. As being a Star Trek fan for the longest time, this game has a looong way to go before it deserves to bare the Star Trek name.

Summary: VERY disappointed. Plays the same as old StarTrek games w/ same type controls.Trying to use keyboard & mouse together next to impossible, game moves to fast even at easy level. Obviously programed for game machines NOT PC. Had mouse control just stop , a few times, for no reason. This is my last Startrek game for PC. Only played skirmish modes & quit.
