Summary: I have not play Stronhold 2 without the 1.4 pathc. All of the complaints, I read about are now untrue. The AI is quite hard at times. The map editor is awsome after you get used to it, much better than any other RTS map editor. You will always have something to do while playing Stronghold 2.

Mediocre Strategy game,

Okay game, but you can't follow Stronghold Crusader with this.

Pros: Just like all the Stronghold games, Great control, 3-d is a huge advancment.
Cons: Zoom in graphics are comparible to the Atari 2600, long load

Summary: I own all the Stronghold series.(Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold 2) When I sat down with Stronghold 2 I was not impressed. There are certain problems such as troop control and graphics, but the changes are huge. This is not a good thing technically. With the 3-D came huge downfalls. The must noticable of which is the zoom in and it looks like the peoples heads are triangles. If you want advice, don't buy Stronghold 2 buy Stronghold Crusader. It isn't 3-D, but the game play is better and it is easier to learn. It's still challenging, but it is more fun.

Pros: well its a castle game whats not fun about pilliging and raiding castles?
Cons: costem mapping cnan be hard to figure out at first soem control issues also

Stronghold 2 is the third installment of the Stronghold franchise. The original Stronghold was the first and only game to combine a castle SIM with siege-warfare RTS. Stronghold 2 will be the first to bring the franchise to 3D. Players will be able to build and develop numerous types of castles and defenses while watching their peasants go about their every day lives. Players will see medieval life in all its forms from festivals and jousts to drunken wenches serving their lord dinner. Players will also be given more control over the strategic aspect of the game.
