  A game of amazing depth and challenge.

  Pros: Takes you through the full story of the hobbit--few 'skipped' parts. Gameplay is challenging, with endless puzzles and lush scenes to navigate.

  Cons: Will keep you entangled in Tolkien's world for hours! :p

  Summary: The Hobbit is a game of rare calibur. It seems that, with a few notable exceptions, the games that come out today just get shorter, and less original at every turn. But this game defies that: it takes you through the full story, providing *hours* of gameplay. Also, unlike the other Lord of the Rings games, by EA, this is not merely a perpetual 'hack and slash' run. Instead, it has an actual story-driven plot, along with tough puzzles and mazes to figure out. You won't finish it in a day, that's for sure! (which is something I like to find in a game. After all, if you're going to spend for it, it might as well last a while, right?)
  
  Besides this, The Hobbit provides beautifully rendered scenes, each one a lush interpretation of one of Tolkien's well known worlds. If you ever wanted to see the places of his tales laid out in a nearly impressionistic fashion, this game is for you.
  
  Overall, the Hobbit is a game that would suit several groups of people: those who love Middle Earth itself , those who appreciate a game with real substance, and those looking for a new challenge to face. If you're looking for a Lord of the Rings game with all the charm of the Books, rather than the button-mashing style of the EA titles, then look no farther, because The Hobbit is just what you've been looking for.
