Summary: I've been playing Total war games since Medieval 1 and let me say that this is my favorite yet. I'm going to try to get into a couple of things in this review, including my computer specs and how it runs because after reading online it seems like a lot of people wondering if they can run it. First of all I think the total war games really are the best, most engaging games out there. If you're new to the total war series, there are two main aspects to the game: the campaign map and the real time battles. On the campaign map you build farms, improve roads, research technology, and most fun of course is raising armies. The second aspect to the game are the real time battles. It is epic to raise an army, march it many miles, and then to command that army in real time to crush your opponents. Search youtube if you would like to see the graphics or gameplay, but I'm going to jump into the graphics requirements. You need a significantly powerful computer to handle this game. First of all, if your computer says it has "Intel HD integrated graphics" or something similar it will not run. The game has a list of minimum requirements on the box. I would not go by these. I would instead judge the potential playability on the recommended requirements instead. If your computer just meets the minimum requirements the game will probably not run that great. Anybody looking for a good forum for the game go to twcenter.net For anyone curious, I've got a Dell studio XPS 15 laptop, with 6 gigs ram dual channel DDR3, i7 processor 740qm, 2 gigs Nvidia Ge force 435M graphics card, and 640gb 7200rpm hard drive. I've got all the settings on ultra except for unit size. The game runs great and without any problems or lag(load times can be a little long but thats just the way it is). I know some people don't like steam and i do understand their frustrations (you do need an internet connection to activate the game). However, I actually enjoy steam, and haven't really had any problems. Its also a lot easier to play online than in the old days using gamespy and having to try and open ports in the firewall to be able to play online. Anyways, five stars great game highly recommend. I will see you in battle!
