Summary: I can't tell you what a fan of Bose I am. I have three lifestyle systems and a 3.2.1 in my sons room, All which work flawlessly. I just bought bose computer speakers, naturally, and I am not impressed at all.
As usual with Bose products the sound quality cannot be beat. It is simply unreal how much sound these babies can pump out from such a small surface area. They look pleasant on my desk, so I have no complaints there. Where I really started to get irritated was when one of the speakers started constantly fading out.
After paying 300 dollars for computer speakers I kinda expected stereotypical Bose quality. Not just in sound, but their overall drive to keep their products flawless. I am disappointed that they sold me speakers that have already lost audio control in one of the two speakers. Will be calling Bose ASAP.
Good Luck

Summary: I brought these speakers specifically for my iPod. I orginally was looking at the Bose SoundDock for obvious reasons. While i was looking and listening to the Sound Dock at the Bose Showroom i noticed the Companion 3 which is the same price as the SoundDock. When i compared the SoundDock and the Companion 3 together the difference is amazing. Although the SoundDock is superb the sound of the Companion 3 blows it away. The Subwoofer is awesome and give each song that extra kick. If you are looking for iPod speakers, the Bose Companion 3 is what you want, it blow all other iPod speakers out of the competition.

Pros: Its Bose! Very powerful speakers, crystal clear sound, compact, perfect for laptop users, the design is very chic, one touch remote is nifty!
Cons: No USB connection, the wire going from your laptop to the speakers will look awkward if the headphone jack on your laptop is located in the front instead of the side.
Summary: Ok.....I've ALWAYS wanted a Bose for my computer, but just like most of us, i was also reluctant to dish out the money for it. So i really ...

Summary: Ok.....I've ALWAYS wanted a Bose for my computer, but just like most of us, i was also reluctant to dish out the money for it. So i really shopped around before i wanted to buy a good speaker system. I first decided to get Logitech (5 speakers surround sound system) which was about $130. So I went to "CC" to hear it live and purchase it. But right next to Logitech, they had a demo of Bose Companion 2, Companion 3, and Companion 5. I was sold right then and there after hearing them. This was the right bang for the bucks in my opinion and here is why.......
The sound quality is excellent. It is very crisp and crystal clear and it plays any genre of sound with the highest quality. The speakers look perfect on a computer desk, it just tucks away on the side. No need to point them towards you, (according to Bose) you get the optimum sound from these speakers if you set them up just as they show you in the manual. One touch mute is very nifty. This is a plug and play system. It took me about 2 minutes to set it up. Bose's proprietary TrueSpace® stereo signal processing circuitry definitely puts out a show for you. The bass is perfect for your bedroom or your computer room. Even at very low sound, you get very clean sound. Also works out perfect when you are studying and you just want some background music. You just get immersed in sound once you set it up and listen to it.
Lets compare this with Companion 5 (if you dont mind the price). My roommate bought the companion 5 series and he doesn't want to leave his desk. The companion 3 lacks the 5.1 VIRTUAL surround sound that the Companion 5 puts out. But it is also $400. Companion 5 also connects to the computer via USB so thats pretty nifty and hides your cables if your desktop is on the floor. But in my opinion Companion 3 was more than enough sound, and i repeat MORE THAN ENOUGH sound for an average sized bedroom or a computer room. I highly recommend this product and its well worth the money. Being a first timer to Bose, i really don't think i want to get any other speakers other than Bose. The quality is just unbeatable.

Summary: These are some amazing speakers, right out of the box they were a breeze to set up. The sound is so vibrant. Soothing bass line, high highs, mid range is great. All around good range. The are tweeked toward the higher sound spectra. I had bookshelf bose speakers connected before these, they sounded warm, with not so much bass. The sound from these little tikes is well balanced. When will CNET put an official spin on this product?

Summary: Overall I'm not very impressed with Bose quality. I find that Bose overemphasize on its sound quality, while it fails to mention its lack of product quality control. I've had the system for more than six months; occasionally one of the speakers would produce no sound. I see I?m not the only one who has such problem. Its product quality control needs great improvement.

While they are a more expensive than systems similar to them, the sound quality gained for that money is had at a bargain rate. Whether they are a serious audiophile or serious gamer, I would recommend this system to anyone.
