  Summary: When I was in the process of buying my speakers I had three top choices. The klipsch 2.0, the Bose 2.0, and curiously,an altec 3.1(simulated 5.1).
  Lucky enough, the t20 just came out and i was able to listen to all 4 of them side by side. And amazingly the sound quality of the creative was so much better than any of them.
  Compared to the altec, the altec just had pure power and base. Compared to the bose, the bose lacked the lower frequencies. The klipsch was just about the same with the creative, but appearance wise, the creative looks so much more elegant and traditional(metal finish,fiber glass cone, chrome knobs), from an audiophiles point of view.
  Only down side is that it does lack a little power, when compared to 2.1s, and you naturaly loose the extreme rumbles of a separate bass unit. BUT I must reiterate, for its class its way up there.!

  Summary: I purchased the Creative Gigaworks 2.0 PC Speaker system exactly a week ago.
  I chose a 2.0 system because I'm more accoutically atuned to high and mid frequencies and I didn't want overpowering bass from a subwoofer which tends to drown out mids.
  The system is easy to set up and the lack of a subwoofer keeps thing uncluttered and uncomplicated.
  When I first powered them up I wasn't very impressed with the sound. It sounded overly bright in the highs, and muddy in the mids. I played around with bass and trouble controls on the speakers and tweaked the equalizer on Windows Media Player and I still wasn't satisfied. But then I realized I just wasn't being patient. Good speakers, especially ones made of glass fibre and cloth like these are, require a certain break-in period before they are at their optimum sound.
  After a couple of days of feeding the speakers a variety of source material, they started to sound warm and natural.
  Now my bass and treble controls are both set to their mid point and the EQ on WIndows Media Player is set to flat. The speakers sound great for me this way.
  When I want a little more bass their is ample mid-low frequencies because of the bas-x-porting. You won't get floor rattling bass as you would from a subwoofer, but you will get just enough if you're not into a lot of bass.
  If you prefer crisp highs and clearly defined mids, this is the speaker system to get.

  Buy these if you only want two speakers!

  Pros: Very good sound, more then powerful enough, crispy snappy clear treble, filling,enveloping distint base small cool design. Perfect for my small room. More then loud enough. Good access to front con.

  Summary: All factors considered, (I know you can spend $5,000.00 on two speakers) but these are the best bang for the moola if you just want a two speaker system. I play Everquest2 online and the music is simply the best. My needs are simple and after years of having all kinds of sub-woofer systems, decided this is great from me and have them right above my 20 inch flat moniter hanging on the wall. Super gamming machine with room on my desk for a bot or research laptop as I game ))

The pair delivers excellent sound quality overall with crisp high frequency sound and strong low frequency bass. It comes with trable and base controls, a main 3.5mm connection for inputs from CD/MP3 players and PCs and an auxilary 3.5mm jack with stereo cables, as well as a 3.5mm adaptor for accepting inputs from stereo RCA audio cables. You could easilly set it up for beter audio outputs for your TV, DVD players, CD players very easilly. The extra 3.5mm jack provides a convenient means of playing music from your portable MP3 players without having to unplug already setup audio cables connected to other audio/video devices. The compact pair of speakers could be positioned very easilly anywhere; besides PC monitor, on your working desk, on your bookshelf or at living room main TV area. I didn't know my MP4 player could sound so great until I bought this pair of speakers....This is a recommended buy of people who like to watch movies with great sound effects....

  Summary: I bought this speaker on the strength of some reviews on the net (not here at cnet though). Having got them home I did some comparing with my 2.1 setup which has satelite tweeters and a sub.
  
  The most obvious character of the creative t20 was the smooth and natural vocal - no hole in the voice - no nasal sound like with 2.1 setup.
  
  I have gradually warmed to these speakers, having been a little unimpressed at first listen. When I fire up the old setup it sounds woeful compered to these little beauties though.
  
  Turned up loud they really push out some bass, which you wouldn't believe just looking at them. But the real joy of these speakers is just listening to vocals like Van Morrison or Thom Yorke.

  Simply, there just isn't enough to it. What sound it produces is good, but after fighting with it to get enough volume out of it, I have given up. I simply cannot achieve enough volume between it and my iPod without it clipping. Our kitchen is pretty large, and the T20 has insufficient power to fill it.

  Summary: Argubly the best 2.0 speaker set up on the market. I was choosing something with less boom than my Logitech Z-2300, and would sound great for my laptop. The sound is amazing, I am surprized they did not get a THX rating. When playing them, it feels like there is a subwoofer but there isn't. One of the highs of the T20s are the built in Treble and Bass controls, but there is not a seperate power button. My friend has the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 2.0, and the sound was very good, so I decided to buy them. But the sales person told me they were out of them, but they had the T20s. When I pushed the little button under the speakers, I was amazed with the sound and imediately picked the box up and brought it to the check-out counter. There are no other 2.0 speakers (under $150) that are as good as the T20s. I would definately recomend and purchase them again.

  They have no base performance to speak of. The higher ranges have clarity and sparkle but there is no depth or warmth in any part of the spectrum.

  My expectations for these units was very high considering the glowing reviews here and on other sites. I expected them to be a vast improvement over my eight year-old Altec Lansings. I was surprised that my old speakers do not sound that bad in comparison to the T20's. After messing extensively with the equalizer settings in iTunes I've made them a bit fuller and I may not send them back.

  Good spec and sound quality at the price

  bass down to 60 hz
  value in terms of performance to price ratio

  Cons: Left speaker cord fixed to speaker - detachable would be better
  power chord not long enough - from the transformer to the speaker on top of the table it barely reaches

  Summary: I needed a small set of monitors for working with sound recordings and musique concrete-type composition work. i work mostly on headphones, since i do a lot of binaural work, but i needed some small monitors just to compare sound on speakers...i looked at a lot of monitors marketed under the pro-audio/studio flag, where these speakers obviously don't feature - they're aimed at a different market i know. But after considering a lot of budget montiors, and then looking at these i was compelled by their spec and price when compared to the "studio" budget line.
  Very few smaller studio montiors go lower than 100hz (even though most of them are ported), and then of course a lot of lower end montiors have paper cones and metal tweeters (i won't go into the pros and cons of the materials - look it up on the web) - and then these so-called monitors would still cost a lot more than these creative t20's. What convinced me in the end though is when i heard them at a friend who purchased them - his taste in music is more plain pop and vocals - and i must say these speakers sounded superb in that area - so i bought them...
  
  since then i must say, i am very pleased overall - there does seem to be a bit of a burn-in period - at first they sounded a little shrill/harsh, but in time they became warmer and smoother, and very pleasing to listen to. They are not ideal for highly demanding material, such as a richard chartier album, or lower bass dependant music, etc. but for the price it is unbelievable what you do get. These speakers are definitely meant for close range listening, which is typical for small independant studio monitoring or listening at the computer/laptop - something bigger would definitely be required in the living room next to the hi-fi/tv.
  
  i highly recommend these speakers for someone who is looking for high quality sound at close range, and even for the amateur recordist/composer/etc. as monitors - consider these before buying the "studio" monitors which imho is hopelessly overpriced. (i heard the yamaha hs50m the other day and i must say i was appalled...imho)
