A benchmark product!

Pros: Audiophile quality speakers with looks to match.
Build quality is excellent.
Powerful.
Cons: Expensive.
Input/Output flexibility is lacking.
No remote.

The first thing that catched you with these speakers is how visually stunning they are. They are true works of art that belong in the MOMA. The next thing you notice is the weight & the build quality. They definitely impart an air of confidence in the product. Top-of-the-line all the way!
The sound quality is exquisite from top to bottom. It's accurate, dynamic & creates a very good soundstage. They also play very loudly without distortion. For all practical purposes they eliminate the need for a subwoofer. Only those who are seeking the ultimate 2.1 setup should even consider one if they want that viseral & tactile feeling that the bottom octave will give you & it better be a good sub that matches the quality of the GLA-55.
The GLA-55's are very revealing of the equipment it's used with. Their place is in a high-end gaming setup with a very good soundcard. They also beg to be taken out of the PC arena as well. I'm currently using them in a HDTV setup with a Cambridge Soundworks P500 subwoofer & the sound is phenominal.
The negatives are pretty much as listed above. The cost will keep a lot of people away but to that I say that the quality of these speakers is that of a separate reciever/speakers/subwoofer system so with that in mind, it's a push. The units only accept one input & there's no headphone output so that may be a problem for some. The touch controls for volume on the left speaker work beautifully but a remote would've been a welcomed option so that you done have to touch them at all.
All in all, a very fine product that deserves 5 stars.
