Good budget speakers, but too much bass

Pros: + Price: on sale, these cost me $40 at Best Buy.
+ Clear, rich sound
+ Enough cord length to put the satellites far apart.
+ Control pod lets you turn on/off and adjust volume easily.
+ 25W RMS power
Cons: - Bass is overpowering, and there's no way to turn it down.
- If the speakers aren't that far from you, the control pod is somewhat pointless and adds to the mess of wires.

Summary: These are definitely "value" speakers. They're not perfect, but they do a good job without bumping you up too many price levels. However, I don't like a lot of bass in my sound (music and movies both). The inability to adjust the bass is incredibly annoying. You will need to rely on equalizers in your software. These are probably going back. These would be perfect for me if the sound were a little more balanced - just depends on what you think is "too much" bass.

Bass is too loud

Summary: I bought these speakers at best buy on sale for $40. Although the quality of the speakers are nice, I can't seem to get past the hum from the bass. I can't watch a movie with these speakers because men's voices get picked up by the bass and it outbalances the normal sounds. I'm definitely going to return these.
