Fantastic Game with Much more to Come!!!!!
by SoundMech on February 1, 2010
Pros: Zipper's license's such as the Socom series has proved their commitment to quality. The shear scale of the world is outstanding, and the graphics provide a crisp graphics experience at 60 fps. Almost an homage to PLANETSIDE, this game is great!
Cons: Complaints about the graphics is purely a taste issue. The character rendering is stylish, and the different Factions wardrobes reflect that. Tech, Punk, and Army Vets make for a interesting Shadow War trio. DLC will be a must!!

Summary: I retooled and reworked homage to SOE's long running MMORPG Planetside, M.A.G. has the makings of a fantastic Shadow War experience. With Sony's recent talk of upcoming fee structures for their PSN network this game has all the ear markings of a cash cow. PSN recent comments about the above and "micro transactions" that seem to be a hit on HOME should most definitely be destined for the MAG universe. Zipper has always offered DLC for their SOCOM series and it shouldn't be any different in a game universe that is extremely addictive and has players fighting for spec/respec points to tool and re-tool their characters. The addition of rotating map scheduled to coincide with instances of the Shadow War, new weapons, clan owned weapons (that can be purchased as a clan, for substantial firepower, but with steeper fees than usually associated with content like this.) Content like this can revolutionize gaming as groups come together in a war game with weapons that individuals other than the financially viable can afford. This way Sony gets a little bit from each player for the good of their gaming group/clan. This game is a must have for Playstation owners who love FPS but have always wanted a lot more satisfaction. MAG fully satisfies!!

like modernwarfare 2 without the polish
by Tyme516 on February 1, 2010
Pros: great concept
Cons: could be better if the spent more time making the enviorment better. and the fact it takes n e where from 3 to 20 seconds to respawn sux. If when your character dies your able to respawn quickly then it would not be a problem.
Summary: bottom line for me lol if you want to feel like your at work, forcing yourself to play a $65 game then this is he game for you. i regret ...

Good Concept, Average Product

MAG falls short of what was expected. The controls are very strange. Cycling through weapons becomes a real pain when yours trying to switch to a secondary weapons. The game play aspect of the title is the true weakness. Too much time has been taken to make the game a "MMO FPS".
Basically, if you waited for Haze like I did, you were throughly disappointed. MAG made me feel the same way. Lackluster game play and horrible controls make me give this software a 2.5.1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great Game
by redsone23 on April 10, 2010
Pros: Very challenging game that makes you play as a team. You can't be rambo and expect your team to win the match. It's more realistic then COD and there are less bull***** going on. No easy kills in this game you need skill.
Cons: They could make more maps and the knifing system could be a little better.
Summary: Great game and a step up from COD. Cod is fun but there are too many easy kills and unrealistic things go on in that game. I rather play zombies ...

A Third Gen FPS that's like almost no other... Teamwork
by bbshot on March 19, 2010
Pros: -Fun
-NO LAG even for the 256 player missions (Domination)
-Requires Teamwork (Pro for me, Con for others)
-Helpful Community
-Average Graphics but good for its scale
-Snipers are not completely dominant
-ALMOST NO CAMPINGCons: -Menu's outside of games need work
-Exp Issues with Medics
-S.V.E.R. has too many people
And thats about it...Summary: When I first started this game, it was excruciatingly painful for me to get used to the controls, but once I had I was surprised with how well it works. ...
Summary: When I first started this game, it was excruciatingly painful for me to get used to the controls, but once I had I was surprised with how well it works. My first domination mission, I almost got voted out of my squad, for I had no clue of what to do. After a couple of them, however, I now am one of the top in EXP.
In other words, don't be frustrated if in the beginning you are not very good, especially if you were a FPS prodigy in MW2 or BF:BC2. After you get used to it, if you like working as a team, you will find it amazingly fun! -
Better than MW2 anyday.
by Shickster21 on March 8, 2010
Pros: The massive amount of players and extremely large maps makes every game a new experience.
Cons: The graphics are not as good as MW2, however gameplay makes of for it.
Summary: If you want an FPS with a true sense of war, you'll love this game. The command structure is genius. Great game all around.

Another MAG vs. Modern Warfare 2 review (Beware!)
by MrMurder on March 5, 2010
Pros: 256 players in one match, not too many achievements, no lag, Not too many guns to upgrade, players can revive you, various jobs, no overpowered killstreaks, no controlls are partially similar to MW2 online.
Cons: Graphics are inferior to Modern Warfare 2, but it is understandable for MAG, explosive weapons seem ineffective against hordes of enemies.
Summary: I can start off by saying that this game revolutionizes online gaming. You start off by choosing a PMC: S.V.E.R., Valor or Raven. Each PMC has their ...
Summary: I can start off by saying that this game revolutionizes online gaming. You start off by choosing a PMC: S.V.E.R., Valor or Raven. Each PMC has their own style. The game doesn't have some stupid story mode that no one would bother playing. Instead, the online is the story. In MAG, you don't just kill people on the enemy team, but you can also fix broken war gear on your team (bunkers, sensor arrays, mortar batteries, motor pools, etc.) and can even revive yourself and other players (you have to buy a special kit to do the latter). The online of MAG has absolutely no lag, unlike Modern Lagfare 2, which lags for me in just about every match. The game also doesn't have any overpowered killstreaks or too many achievements, again unlike Modern Warfare 2. The graphics are the weak point in this game. Textures pop up mid range, but it is understandable as such a game would be overkill even for the PS3.
