Very Good!

I've tried the game on both 1080i and 720p. And 720p looks the best and WAY better than any PS2 game PERIOD!
The game graphics are comparable to the 360's version as well. But did you notice that they didn't mention that? Probably because they are 360 fans.
Basically, the other two reviewers are lying. Don't believe me? Take a look at the other reviews around the internet.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Underrrated - Even for a Port
by Tha_Legend on November 5, 2007
Pros: Good online, character creation, and different game modes.
Cons: Hosted by players not dedicated servers resulting in lag. No lobby.
Summary: It's a good game. I feel it is underrated by users because most of them are rabid fanboys.

Definitely not as good as SOCOM

Summary: Very optimistic about this game as i've been an avid Socom fan on PS2, this was not even close to as good as those games. From the first time I played to the last I could never get into this game. This one went back to the store last night for Madden 08, not a total waste as I got some online play in with a few friends and it got me $30 off Madden plus an additional 20% for being a new title. Hopefully Socom will show the real graphical capabilities of the PS3!

Summary: I bought this game with high expectations after reading reviews. I really enjoyed this game however it seemed as soon as I was really into it...the game ended. I was surprised how short the story mode was. I guess after playing "Resistance Fall of Man"...Rainbow Six didn't quite measure up. However playing the story mode was fun...just way to short.

Dissapointment once again.

Summary: I am not a 360 fan but after I have seen the game on the PS3 I can tell you from experience that it looks better graphically on the 360. I am very dissapointed with Ubisoft. They are one of the best when it comes to making games but apparently after delaying this game so much they still didnt get it right. The graphics are good but you know it should be better when the 360 version looks better than the PS3. I hate the fact that some haters out there dont realize what potential this game had on the PS3 and how we all were expecting so much of this game and were let down so fast. The story line is short but fun. The graphics shoulve been a whole lot better but Sony and Ubisoft dropped the ball on this one. I await Ghost Recon with doubt and hope PS3 can get it together. Bottom line, should you but Rainbow Six? Not really. It is a fun game to play but you'll be dissapointed after you see the graphics and you know they coulve done better. You are better off renting it as the story line is short and the online gaming is horrible (losts of lacking and its not organized). Rainbow Six is a tremendous dissapointment after you have seen and know what the PS3 is capable of. We can only hope that Ubisoft shuts us all up with something coming up in the future. Any one who says that this game is complete and totally awsome is arogant and hasnt seen what PS3 can really do and what it should be.

simply dissapointing

Summary: My expectations for this game were sky high, and for good reason. Every major game review website had this game as phenomenal. No less than an 8.5 out of 10 anywhere. The truth is this game is a huge let down. plain and simple. I have no idea how the major review sites came to those scores.
Here is the truth:
I played and finished the entire story mode. Story mode is action packed and loads of fun. Intense fire fights with terrorist scum.
Played online for as long as I could stand the awful audio quality coming through my headset and the choppy video performance. Without a doubt, the biggest surprise is how terrible the graphics are. They simply aren't at the level they should be given what is capable with the PS3. I will never understand how ubisoft arrived at the decision that this game was ready to be dropped on shelves. The bottom line is this game is all hype. The potential was unlimited. The end result is a huge flop. -
Extremely dissapointing and apparaently very overrated.

Pros: Realistic gameplay. Requires strategic problem solving.
Cons: Shabby, undetailed graphics Online is practically unplayable.

Summary: Just like many others, I was very excited when this game finally hit the shelfs. I immediately snagged my copy and was soon left very disappointed. I can't believe how last gen the graphics are and how horrible online play is. Changing from 1080i to 720p is certainly better but not much. I really expected more out of this game.

Very Disappointing performance!
by blastreach on June 29, 2007
Pros: Fun campaign mode play. Deep levels.
Cons: Terrible graphic performance (have to manually set PS3 to 720p to get even PS2 graphics). Online play terrible!

Summary: If you were like me and thought this game would be awesome, you will be disappointed as well. The campaign version is quite fun and has nice detailed levels, however, the graphic performance will leave you stunned (and not in a good way).
The graphics look like a PS2 port, not HD. Text is blurry and enemies hard to make out (and I'm playing on a 57" widescreen HDTV!). If you hard change your PS3 display settings to 720p (instead of 1080i or 1080p) it is just a bit better.
Sound is all messed up as well. I have to crank up the volume to hear my squad's communications just to have incoming call from command blare out of my rear speakers at me!!! (even after tweaking volume levels in-game)
If you expected this game to be great for online, you would also be disappointed. The lobby interface is spartan, no instructions available to explain goals of games, games take forever to load, microphone performance is terrible and just gets worse over time playing.
In conclusion, a fun game in campaign mode with limitations, but online is just a joke!
