Summary: Given how many stations now broadcast in HD Radio, it's something of a surprise that HD Radio hardware is so sparse -- the two Insignia players and the Zune HD are the only portables past or present that are available. While it is expensive for a radio-only device, the HD02 does give a good accounting of the current state of the HD Radio art, offering many of the format's newest features. Sound quality is naturally limited by the headphones -- I use the NuForce NE-6 and am happy with the sound, although I do wish it was more customizable (preset EQ curves would be nice). Until other manufacturers start making HD portables, it's the best way right now to get into HD Radio.
Pros: 1. Very compact device 2. Seems fairly sensitive 3. Can't think of any other positives
Cons: 1. Battery is rechargeable but only from USB port on a computer. 2. Battery doesn't last very long before needing a recharge....only about 45 minutes. 3. Instructions are very lacking. Tells you to touch certain icons on the touch screen to perform diff

Summary: In addition to other deficiencies....the ear buds that come with it have really TERRIBLE audio quality....very tinny and screechy. This baby is going back to the store where I purchased it. Not worth anywhere near the $70 I paid for it. The tiny touch screen is too small for anyone other than a child's fingers. I wanted to hook it up more or less permanently to my stereo sound system. I though I could find a charger with USB port (like the one Apple supplies with the Ipad) to power this unit and keep it charged. But the instructions specifically warn against keeping it plugged into power which, it is claimed, can damage the lithium-ion battery.
Pros: Expensive for a radio-only, but allows you to access the excellent HD Content which essentially gives you quality in content comparable to satellite radio, with better quality sound.
Cons: Too expensive for radio-only. At $40 it would be fairly priced.
