Summary: I was actually nervous buying this unit because of the lack of reviews on most websites. i never had the previous model but i have had sirius for about 2 years. the internet raido is perfect and if i am sitting near a window the antenna phones work perfect. i would think you would be fine in an airport or anywhere you can sit within a few feet of a window if wi-fi isn't availible. unit is slick, works really, really well. still need to figure out the recording options. if you want sirius on the move go for it...

"This thing is so much better Than the first"

Summary: I got this from Best Buy when it was first released have had it for two months and Sirius has hit a homer with this one,802.11 B,G,smaller build, built in charge light next to on off switch, built in 2GB of memory and you can add up to 8 GB in mini SD card. The finish on the radio is the same as the Motorola Z3 and it is a solid feel to it not that flimsy plastic feel of the 100.The antenna headphones are made by Altec Lansing and are so much better than the first headphones that came with the 100 they are really a comfortable fit and work well. There is also a new menu setup and you can make the menu read out larger if you are as blind as me.There are many new changes and I have to say it sounds great with either WiFi or the antenna headphones!
I have to say go check it out and see for yourself how much different it is I think that you will be as suprised as I was.I have to say I will not miss the old 100 I had so much trouble with it I had it replaced four times in six months and so I was really glad that this has finally been released,I think that they have really worked the bugs out of this but time will tell!!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Nice idea, poor execution, abisimal service
by dukie00 on December 31, 2007
Pros: Really good satellite reception for such a small unit.
Cons: WiFi operation is inconsistant and tech support seems paid to get you off the phone rather than actually solve problems.

Summary: My wife gave me the Stiletto 2 as a Christmas gift. Here it is New Year's eve and I'm awaiting my 3rd return. Yes, 3 defective units in just over a week.
In my case, the device will not hold a WiFi connection most of the time and will disconnect in as quick as 30 seconds. It connects and buffers quickly, but drops connection (even while showing a strong signal) in moments. Several times the dropped connection initiated a reboot of the device which takes an exceptionally long time to run as it is.
I've had few problems with the Satellite signal with both the internal antenna as well as the headphones. Both work as well as my GPS receiver in that as long as I have a fairly good view of the sky, I get a signal. If I go inside, I lose it. In fact, I've even had a weak but usable signal inside where I never expected one.
In dealing with Sirius custom support, I sent a highly detailed e-mail with the results of testing with my second unit. Over 48 hours later (they promise a 24 hour response) I got a reply that told me to call their Technical Support.
I get a 'Supervisor' on Technical Support that insists that the problem with my WiFi is a bad internal Antenna. This is the same reason I got for unit #1 that was malfunctioning in a similar manner.
I find this diagnosis doubtful for several reasons.
1) I can connect and initially download (buffering) from any distance from my router that I can get a signal on my laptop.
2) Even sitting less than a foot from the router with full signal and no other RF devices (computer, phone, cell phone, etc) on, the unit drops connection as if I had a marginal connection.
As an engineer who has developed software for networked devices and did some early packet radio work, the failure looks more like an issue with lost packets and time outs rather than a "Faulty Antenna". Especially since the same antenna is used for the satellite reception and I've found that to be quite good given the size of the device.
If you are looking for a portable satellite radio, this is a good unit, but if you are looking for a way to enjoy Sirius programming while working around the house where you can't get a clear view of the sky or the average boombox or stereo is not a good solution, this device seemed like a perfect solution, but is instead very disappointing.
Hopefully Sirius will get the WiFi issues resolved soon, but until that occurs, I CAN NOT recommend this product as the primary use as portable radio is simply not well served.1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: This piece of crap is the biggest waste of money ever. I returned this thing 4 times for a warranty swap and I would have kept swapping it if the warranty didn't run out. This useless piece of trash will spontaneously delete your saved music/radio shows for no reason. This happens once every 4 to 6 weeks. Nothing is more fun that to tape 20 hours of radio shows with the anticipation of enjoying almost one full day of listening pleasure only to have it stroke out on you and leave you with nothing. Then you have the pleasure of erasing and resetting the unit so that it will start working correctly again. Until it decides to soil itself again, of course. Then you can reload all of your favorite channels again, which is an entertaining activity to engage in once every month or two. On top of that the slimy creeps at Sirius will automatically renew your 2 year contract WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION so that you can immerse yourself in another 2 years of lousy service. What a pleasure! On top of all that, this hunk of junk is about as technically advanced as "Pong". It can't record on one channel and play a different channel at the same time. It can't record to the micro-sd card. The user interface is clumsy at best. The only thing good about this meadow muffin is the battery life. Have you noticed that they have not introduced any new portable models in over 3 years? That's because Sirius is going to spiral rapidly down the toilet in 2 months after Howard leaves. I take great pleasure in knowing that Sirius will fade into obscurity in the very near future.
