Today, Sirius announced the launch of the Stiletto 2, the highly anticipated update to the Stiletto 100, a portable satellite radio that doubles as an MP3 player. The new Stiletto measures 4.3x1.9x0.6 inches and weighs 4.3 ounces, making it both smaller and lighter (by about 25%) than its predecessor--a definite plus, as one of our complaints about the 100 was its chunky build. The new player also offers enhanced WiFi capability with support for commercial hot spots, and it has a microSD card slot for memory expansion--both features that were lacking in the Stiletto 100. Features the Stiletto 2 shares with its predecessor include the ability to record live satellite songs, support for MP3 and WMA tracks (including subscription tracks from the likes of Rhapsody and Yahoo Music), and 2GB of internal flash memory. More specs after the pic.

Fantastic Unit
by paullatham on November 25, 2007
Pros: Access to Sirius where ever I go, Nice design,
Cons: Satellite headphones a little large, ear buds are cheap, You can replace with standard earbuds, Sirius does not have all channels on WiFi.

Summary: For years, I refused to pay for radio. I was WRONG! I had a rental car with Sirius. It ROCKS! I went out and bought this unit a couple of weeks later. No regrets. Great little unit, Car install took one in a half hours at Circuit City. Works good as a portable unit. One thing I do not like is that Sirius Does Not have all there channels on WiFi. All in All GREAT unit, I would and will recommend to anyone who listens to music.
Updated
I posted on this unit back in November when I first bought it. Loved it then and still do! Now, I have had plenty use of it. I use it ALL the time. As a portable unit, it has really surprised me in some of the areas that I get reception. I have worked in office bldgs, if there is a window in the room I get reception. I am very happy with mine.3 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I bought the Stiletto 2, and after 3 customer service calls, and over an hour on the phone, they informed me that the FM Transmitter on the stiletto 2 had been removed. For some people this may not be a big issue - but to me it was everything.. I could not justify paying 300 for a radio, and another 50 for a home dock, to find I had to hard wire the stiletto 2 to the home entertainment system, and either remove the surround sound, or my wii.. It makes no sense to have to wire it.
I'm frustrated that one of the key features in every other radio they sell is gone!! The manager hinted to me tha this functionality may return in the Stiletto 3. As for me, I deactivated the stiletto 2, and will return it later this week.. I'll go back to the sportster and keep the FM Transmission.
For those of you not interested in this piece, the radio was nice, earphones where kind of bulky - but the remote for the home dock, and the radio itself where much improved. I'm disappointed that I do have to return it, but without that feature, it is just not worth it.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: i like it better then my ipod cause you have a wide selection to listen to in the car and on the go. i can get reception in my house but if i were to go clean out a closet or my shed i couldnt get any reception at all... works great if you feel like going on a run or walk the dog... the antenna/headphones are bulky but if that doesnt bother you then to each his own??? its expensive but i use it more then i use my ipod... the only real complaint i had was the customer service!!! the worst experience ive been through ever!!! I was over charge for the service! products were being pushed on to me like the 2 year agreement or lifetime agreement!!! i was never explained clearly what my options were as far as plans go... it was down right ridiculous!!! bottom line... i recommend the product to anyone but dealing with costumer service has me really sour (till this day i am still ironing out the billing)!!!

Summary: It seems the technology of satellite radio does not lend itself to being truly portable. Even with the antenna headphones the reception is spotty when moving around or under light tree cover. Where this device really shines is in its ability to record a huge amount of content and play it back later with outstanding battery life. So, it is not really all that portable. I do use it in the car and in the house interchangeably with no issues. Not a bad device.

Pros: Compact, easy operating system, bright screen, wi-fi and satellite reception

The best decison I have made buying electronics.
by molson929 on April 8, 2008
Pros: Great programming, able to record individual songs or extended periods of live broadcasts, can put my MP3's on it.

Summary: I had the Stiletto 100 for 6 months and was lucky enough to be able to upgrade to the Stiletto 2 for cheap. I already loved my stiletto, but when I got this one and set it up, I am much happier.
I cook for a living, and I got really sick of listening to my cd's over and over, as well as regular radio, which was full of commercials and the same music as well. After doing some research, I caved in, and I am in love!
Albeit, the car kit and home kits are $50 each, but once you get all set up, you will not be disappointed. I can let this thing record a few hours (up to 100) of my favorite music channels for when I don't get reception, and I can put my own music on as well.
If you do decide to get this, or any sirius radio, don't expect everything to be commercial-free. Only the music channels are commercial-free, not the talk/entertainment/sports channels.
I really like being able to listen over Wi-Fi while I am at work, at a coffee shop, or any hot spot. While on Wi-Fi, if I find a song I like, I can bookmark it and buy it later (If I'm listening through satellite, I can record the song, but it is not possible to transfer these to MP3 or WMA, but that is to be expected.)
I like to think that Stiletto 2 owners are smarter than the Ipod crowd.
If there could be any improvements on this unit, I would say they need to make the headphones wrap around the back of the skull instead of over the top of the head. It's 2008, we have nanotechnology and fly to the moon, I think we can build a decent headphone set. Aside from that, its a nice size, its light, and I can't get enough of it. I could listen to the Raw Dog Comedy channel all day, its great! -
Portable product is not portable after all
by NJ15000 on January 26, 2008

Spend $329 + tax for the Siletto 2, and it will not work. It does not catch the signal in ferry, Bookstores, coffee places. How much time will you be on a street to use the product? It is not portable for the price you pay.
Alternately, I can get a $30 product instead of $329.
When I returned the product (within 10 days) to SIRIUS, they duped me of not paying the taxes of $27. They said it is the company policy not to pay back the taxes on the product. They never mention that before even if you ask.
Anyway, the main point here is that the product does not work - it is not portable for the price one pays in buying the product. Be careful even for trying the product - money you pay is not completely refundable. Surprised how people rate the product so high. Instead buy $30 product. -
