Great Idea, But Just Doesn't Work
by wes169 on February 18, 2009
Pros: Streaming from wi-fi, storing favorite songs from on-air play, expandable memory, compact size.
Cons: Extremely poor reception. Customer service department was terrible. Spent 40 minutes being bounced from department to department in order to return the Stiletto 2.
Summary: Go buy an MP3 player, 'cuz that's what this hunk of technology becomes with shoddy signal reception inside a city, or indoors, or in a park, or near power ...
Summary: Go buy an MP3 player, 'cuz that's what this hunk of technology becomes with shoddy signal reception inside a city, or indoors, or in a park, or near power lines, or in an open field, or near a school (you get the idea). I wish this thing worked, because satellite radio on the go would be great, but with poor signal strength and reception that cuts out often, it just isn't worth the money.

Everything I needed it to be
by magherafelt on December 31, 2008
Pros: Simple to use, versatile. Liked the size, battery life is fine, more than adequate memory especially with added SD card
Cons: Antenna headphones don't sit easily on my head. It should come with a case to prevent scratching. I use a small drawstring bag I found in the house to transport it in
Summary: I have been a Sirius subscriber for 3 years and really enjoy the service. My commute changed from car to train and I missed Sirius. I really didn't expect ...
Summary: I have been a Sirius subscriber for 3 years and really enjoy the service. My commute changed from car to train and I missed Sirius. I really didn't expect the headphone antenna to work well (it doesn't) but I use it like a DVR - while I sleep, it is in the home docking station and I can record hours of music from different channels and of course Howard Stern and listen to it the next day. The WiFi works well (you cannot record from WiFi - no big deal). Display is bright and clear and controls easy to use. Sound is perfect. So far a real success. I bought mine direct from Sirius for $199 inc home docking kit - a great deal.

JUNK!!! 5 returns
by Zabby1965 on December 30, 2008
Pros: I like the timer features, if they worked, but they dont so nothing about this unit is worth it
Cons: I purchased this radio for the timer features so I could record shows while I was not in the car. Well nothing but problems. Intermittingly records. Will not come on from a sleep mode to record, I had recorded 35 hours of programming and was all eras

Radio? You mean this constant sputtering is a radio?
by triker13 on December 29, 2008
Pros: Great look, cool screen visuals
Cons: Doesn't work as a radio consistently. Spotty reception, volume controls broken on my unit, terrible reception headphones.

Summary: Where to start? Bought this as a gift to myself for working hard and having a great year, now I have to call to send it back. Home kit is a joke! You have to put their ugly receiver with 30' cord outside on your house, assuming it faces correctly for their satellites. What, am I supposed to tack the cord to my baseboards? As for the player, what a lost opportunity! It's so great looking, I couldn't wait to start using it. My unit has a broken volume switch and won't go up or down and is permanently stuck on max volume therefore blasting my ears. I have been to several forums where many others have the same problem with no solution to fix it. The reception headphones are ugly and bulky. On their website they show the cool blue earbuds for listening; apparently only if you don't want to listen to the radio. The receiver phones were spotty at best indoors, which make them just about useless. One would assume most of the people who bought this wanted to use them for such a purpose, go figure! I am dreading the phone call to customer support as in the past it has been a mixed bag. Such a shame SIRIUS, no wonder you stock is down!

Excellent MP3 and Satellite radio
by EddieG733 on December 16, 2008
Pros: Next to my blackberry, this thing rocks! Love the Wish list portion and all the satellite channels.
Cons: Software for your computer to add music is not user friendly. Very difficult to add songs once you establish a playlist.
Summary: Owned my Stiletto 2 for over a year now and use it daily!!!

One of the best toys ever made!
by sailor011 on October 19, 2011
Pros: Simply one of the best toys I've ever bought. I purchased this item when I was a truck driver. Perfect for NFL games while on the go rather than ordinary radio where you couldn't pick up a game. Got hired by a government agency, and I use it in the off
Cons: No cons what so ever!

The best radio (+MP3) wherever I go
by macrophobia on October 24, 2009
Pros: The radio clearly gives you the options you are looking for. Channel, time, date, duration (up to 6 hrs), how often and how long to keep the "shows". It adds easy to your home wireless network too! And doubles as an MP3 player.
Cons: You will eventually want a home or car docking station and a belt clip or armband. And they are fairly expensive. Satellite reception is not good when you are running.

Summary: If you like to listen to radio that is commercial free and you like the idea of taking it with you everywhere, get this. It's stylish and does it's job very well. I've had mine for about 2 years now, and I was alarmed to see the bad review posted here, so, I'm giving my honest opinion.
I enjoy WRN, Howard Stern, and Octane channel 20, but I am only in my car for about 2 hours a day. The stilleto 2 helps me hear my favorite radio shows when I am at work and when I am running. By the way, it's durable even though it looks delicate.
I'm still using the original Li-Ion battery which is 1600 mAh. The battery will last for about 3 - 5 days with regular use before needing a recharge. Getting a docking station will make this a non-issue. Or, you can just plug it in with the provided USB cable, and transfer some MP3's while you are at it.
The ear buds provided are throw-aways in my opinion. Get yourself a nice sports headset and you are ready for anything. My stilleto has become as standard as my phone, watch, and wallet.

Great satellite radio and general music player
by dnargsiefil on October 8, 2009
Pros: - very mobile, using it while in the gym and out running
- works great with the professional car installation by my Best buy (see cons)
- good amount of featuresCons: - Gets expensive with all the stuff you have to buy for installation in Car, ended up with a total of $240 before it was in the car (see below).
- Automatic program recording does not work correctly.
- Battery life could be a little betterSummary: Watch out for the car installation cost, it does add up. don't get me wrong I think the professional installation is the way to go. But for a device ...
Summary: Watch out for the car installation cost, it does add up. don't get me wrong I think the professional installation is the way to go. But for a device that expensive and with a monthly fee for the service, they should bundle it with more or at least have a car kit which includes all the needed pieces. See itemized list:
Car Installation
- Car kit $50
- installation $90
- custom bracket $20 (the one in the car kit is too bulky)
- special antenna adapter (Mini/ BMW) $25
- FM antenna adapter (yes you still need it, not included in car kit???) $30
- Small crap items $10
- taxes
Connectors
One more issue, when you have the radio laying at home without the home docking station (not taken the $ plunge) you connect the included bulky headset to it for antenna reception, that will cover the power plug, making it impossible to have the radio record with the antenna for ever, since the battery will run empty after about 3h. That could have been designed better. Forces you to buy the damn home station as well!
But otherwise I love the versatility of the device and I do love the Sirius/ XM program, no ******** local radio talk, just music pure!
