Unbelievably Great Sound from such a small form factor
by 94transam on September 15, 2010
Pros: Awesome, loud sound. The the fit and finish is top notch. This is one well built speaker. Relatively small and lightweight.
Cons: None - not cheap, but well worth it.

Summary: The stand is actually VERY sturdy once you lock it fully into place. You must push the stand very firmly into the connector on the back of the unit. The first "click" you feel does not actually connect the stand. You must push it harder than you may feel is necessary, but once you do, the stand is rock solid. If you think you want it, then you should get it. You will not be dissappointed. This thing puts out high quality sound that will fill up a large room.

Amazing Sound!
by claymore2211 on February 2, 2011
Pros: Fantastic sound. Carries all through the house. Doesn't sound tinny. Good bass and balance. Good battery life. Charges iPod while docked. Very portable. Remote is very responsive, even from a distance of over 15 feet.
Cons: Carrier bag is a bit wimpy. No firmness to it, so I am always nervous that the wee remote is going to fall out without my noticing. No handle on the bag. Can't think of any other cons.

Summary: I did A LOT of research before deciding on a speaker dock. This was the one that came out on top and I am NOT disappointed. I tested the sound side by side with an Altec Lansing that I was also considering and there was no comparison whatsoever. The Logitech won hands down. It has fantastic sound, fantastic portability and is well worth the investment.

A Real Standout Speaker Dock
by ParSeven on December 27, 2010
Pros: Small footprint. Huge sound in volume, range & depth.
Cons: Can't dock iPod Touch w/ case on. Provided case is too large for the device & has no handle.

Summary: I have owned several speaker docks of different sizes and for varying applications (poolside, golf cart, home office shelf, etc.). Always out for a good size/sound quality ratio, I was anxious to try the Logitech. My most recent and long-time favorite has been the Altec Lansing IM600, but this Logitech completely steals the show in the sound quality department.
The bass is deep. The highs are sharp. I've always loved the Altec's size/sound ratio, but for about a 15-20% bump in size, you gain easily 50% in sound quality and volume. The remote on the Logitech also provides very good controls and integrates completely (minus playlist switching) w/ the iPod Touch. It even controls the pause, skip, etc. commands for other 3rd party online music apps like Pandora and Slacker.
I can't put it more simply than to say that this box is the hands down best iPod dock for the size and price. The sound output & quality will blow you away. For $99 to $125, this thing is an absolute steal.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best all around portable speaker system for the Ipod.
by Alstair on December 26, 2010
Pros: Excellent soundt. Replaceable NiMH battery (no more "D" batteries needed). Charges Ipod when docked. No Ipod dock adapters required. Lightweight and small enough to easily transport. Good remote. Nice case supplied.
Cons: none so far

Summary: Was thinking of buying the Alec Lansing IMIT800 before I saw this review. Glad I did not. IMT800 only had a 1 year warranty and based on my experience with the IM7 this is not a good thing. Altec does not provide service or parts after warranty (at least that was true for the IM7). This product comes with a 2 year warranty and from my experience with Logitech their support is far superior. Sound at high volume output excellent and is plenty loud enough to fill a large living room/family room (better clarity and separation than IM7 and no noticeble speaker hiss or rattle).

Terrific Clarity
by pasteve on November 3, 2010
Pros: I've been using a Klipch IGroove for about 3 years & the S715i beats the pants off that speaker at half the price I paid for it back in 2007. The 8 hours of portability just makes it that much better!
Cons: The small back stand is tough to click in place
Summary: The light weight & sleek looks

Great sound. Rechargeable. Very portable. Great, I say.
by spingle on November 15, 2010
Pros: Great sound when plugged in. Nearly as great on battery power. Rechargeable. Very portable. Probably as good as it'll get for the size/price.
Cons: Not a lot of bells & whistles ... well, NO bells and whistles. Great sound. Minimal controls. Great sound. Nobody else comes close.
Summary: Sigh. ONE MORE IPod-centric speaker. It sounds great, looks slick, but is stuck in that weird Apple universe. It'll work with your Zune, your Sandisk, your whatever; but it ...

Realistically not for outdoor use.

Summary: I am a college student and I was looking for something affordable but highly portable. The sound is absolutely amazing...inside. I spend alot of time outdoors usually at events and I expected to bring these speakers out for at least a few hours, it can't even do that. I can't even bring these things in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower, after 3 songs it's done. My speakers are always plugged in/charging so I expect them to at least last a few songs outdoors but continually get frustrated. Now I am looking for another speaker system. This just didn't cut it for me.

Fantastic sound for such a transportable speaker
by pmignini on March 9, 2012
Pros: Light, relatively portable. Fairly sturdy. Fuller sound than other battery-powered or rechargeable units. Simple, functional design.
Cons: Minor: rubber cover over power cord input is a pain to open.
Summary: Bought this unit for my daughter about a year ago. I've been using it for months, and love the sound. Battery is fairly durable. I get about 4-5 hours ...
Summary: Bought this unit for my daughter about a year ago. I've been using it for months, and love the sound. Battery is fairly durable. I get about 4-5 hours on highest volume, longer at more moderate volumes. Has a far fuller, richer sound than other portables I've had, including other Logitechs. While I agree with Cnet that a clock or FM would have been nice, the unit as-is is probably the best in its class.
I'd add that I write this after using this while chaperoning a week-long field trip with a high school, and had this perched on the dashboard of our bus. It's hit the ground a number of times and is still fine, thus, its a quality build. -
