Summary: Very happy with purchase. The picture quality is a big step up from my 6 yr old 53 in Hitachi rear projection. HD is very vivid. But the big seller for me was the non HD channels. They come through better than other DLP floor models I looked at. HDMI 1.3 inputs are a real asset. I got rid of 4 cable linking my sat box to my receiver to the tv. It looks a lot cleaner behind my entertainment center now. My Xbox 360 games all look new and fresh. The USB conection on the front panel is a nice addition too. The TV is 10in thinner that my old one and just made my living room go from cozy to spacious. There are two Cons I have noticed. The vent in the back of the set pumps out some serious heat. So the TV can't be set right up against the wall. A couple of inches of space is needed to let the air flow. And why on such a high quality set and all those separate inputs isn't there a PIP function? I've had two friends come over to see the set and both are buying the exact same model. I bought it at HHgregg for $1599.00.

Summary: I have had this TV for 21 months and have had no problems with it what so ever. Picture is still as amazing as the day I took it out of the box. Picture on HD channels are crystal clear. SD are descent. Connecting a Blu-ray to it has an awesome picture too. I am very happy overall with this television. I have recommended this TV to 4 different people and have all went out and purchased them and they are all extremely pleased as well!!!!

Amazing! 2 years of ownership, still no complaints.
by craigmeier on October 26, 2009
Pros: Black satin finish resists annoying glairs that you get from glossier finishes. User friendly. LIght up remote. Alarm clock. Oh yeah, and an AMAZING PICTURE!
Cons: No 3D future, well that's technology for you. Just when you think 1080p is the answer to the next 10 years, we get 3D thrown at us.

Summary: I almost hate writing such positive things and chance jinxing such an amazing experience that I?ve had so far, and will hopefully continue to have with this TV, but I wanted to share my wonderful experience, and hopefully with this review find a used unit out there a good home. Even though this unit is well off of store shelves, I wanted to recommend anyone who is buying this as a used/refurbished unit, to pick one up. I use it for my HD Cable programming and DVD's and have just last week, switched to Blu-Ray and Netflix streaming. This unit handles anything I throw its way and in return, delivering me superior picture quality, even in bright to low levels of room light. I never messed around to much with the Net-Command features, as I like using different remotes for different units, so I have no input on that, but everything else is superb.

Summary: I had a 4 year old Hitachi 57" Ultravision.I thought that tv had a good picture.I am very impressed with the Mits.DLP does make a difference.Tons of inputs, excellent picture, easy set up,small footprint.I am amazed how much they can cram into a smaller set these days.I know that projections are going away, but I am not sorry i bought this set.I live in Fla and the Comp USA's closed down and then had a grand re-opening sale and I got this set for$999.00.Great price. My Toshiba HD player looks simply awsome through this set.Waiting on my Onkyo 705 to get here.I think next it will be a PS3.Go buy this tv,you will not be sorry.

Summary: This is an excellent TV. It has a great picture in both HD and surprisingly even SD looks good as well. My Xbox 360 has never looked better and it's connected just by the component inputs not the HDMI. The only con I can see is when you are watching a dark scene in a movie it's a little too dark. Other than that this is a great set to buy.
