Summary: We are retirees 71 and 66 years of age..We watch this TV 12-15 hours a day..Just can not get enough of the Netflix movies and select TV shows! I have the Roku.com system, the Sony 3D blueray player, Tivo recorder and The Seinhauser Wireless Headphones..You do NOT need the 3D emitter..Just buy the shutterless rechargeable 3d glasses and they will work with the dlp link in the TV..I feed this TV with a Channel Master #4228 HD antenna..We get 50 FREE channels out of Atlanta..I wish you could see the picture!! Compare DLP to plasma,Led or LCD, side by side and you will buy DLP everytime! This is my 3rd rear projection TV from Mitsu..The first 2 lasted 27 years!! I'm sure this one will give years of trouble free service! Wait on the "deal"..I got mine for $900 plus tax 3 days before the Superbowl..1Day after the Game..they went Up $600!! I still can't believe it was mfg. 1-2012 and delivered to my home 2-2012!!
Pros: Big, big picture. Cheap and light for the size. A quick calibration with a setup dvd yielded a very sharp, detailed picture that gives up very little to LCD/LED tvs I'm familiar with... and it's size puts it in a different league than most others.
Cons: The screen is a little bit more reflective than I'd like. It doesn't have the greatest number or variety of inputs, though it has enough. I had some issues with the digital audio output not always working as it should.

Summary: Probably the best tv value out there today; a very good 73" picture for about $1000 to $1500. Though flat panel tvs are "sexier", this tv manages to pack a considerably larger picture of comparable quality (a notch or two below a good LCD, perhaps, though a small notch, not that noticeable to the average person) in a lighter weight package that's still only about 15" deep. No, you can't mount in on a wall, but not every room needs that. As far as the picture quality, a few minutes with a setup dvd (something any new tv really needs) yielded a very good picture-- and I haven't even delved into the advanced video settings yet, which I'm sure will improve things even more. 3D compatibility is a plus for some, though I don't care one way or the other about it at this point. I can't find any serious flaws in it and think most people would be very happy with a tv such as this.
Cons: Didn't come with everything you need for 3D. No Audio Out Jacks Picture lighting isn't the best.... I had a plasma that made this look weak Before you buy the set, remember it is huge and takes up pretty much a wall.

Summary: I just bought my Mitsubishi wd 73640 Yesterday, I really like this Theatre!!! Here's the BUT...... There is no audio out jack... well their it is, but it is only digital audio out. I don't have a digital system.... The picture is crisp and clear, BUT it could have used some help with brightness. The color is AWESOME and the onboard audio is marginal (I'm a sound tech). I would have given this Theatre a 5 Star rating but I just don't think Mitsu really thought this thing out. Did I mention the HUMONGUS screen is awesome!!! So far haven't used the 3D. Be aware that my set didn't come with glasses nor something called an emitter, then there is a signal convertor box which I really don't know if I will need so I ordered the glasses and emitter from Amazon. I guess I'll have to buy the convertor separately if it won't work....
When I bought mine Walmart had a price match guarantee on so I got it for 999.99 usd. I would but this again if I needed.
Be aware that there seems to be a projection lamp that may need replacement.... not sure what to think of this yet.
