All three have a native resolution of 1,280x720, a built-in HDTV tuner, two HDMI inputs--which can also accept PC signals via a DVI-to-HDMI adapter--and three component-video inputs, including one on the front panel. Their speakers are mounted on the bottom of the sets, so they'll be easier to fit into tight spaces. We'll have more information, including a in-depth report in image quality, when we get our hands on a review sample.

Cannot find anything bad.
by krkptrck on December 8, 2006
Pros: Weighs 60 lbs, can turn off unused inputs so you don't have to scroll through them, and a beautiful HD picture.
Cons: Regular analog tv picture is not perfect but much better than most HD sets.

Summary: I bought this set after a bad experience with a Samsung slimfit. The HD picture is absolutely stunning with no fade out if you happen not to be directly in front of the set. No adjustment out-of-the box was required and all colors are vibrant and natural. This set also has superb sound.
This set also has independantly controlled inputs. You can adjust the color and sound for one input while the other inputs retain their settings. In addition, you can turn off unused inputs so you don't have to scroll through all of them to get to the input you want.
Finally, this set only weighs 60 lbs compared to the 120 lbs for the Samsung. I am very happy with this set and highly recommend it. I paid $1420 at Circuit City and now have a beautiful wide screen HD picture coming in on an old UHF antenna for free.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Excellent TV if rear-projection is right for you!
by fooldog01 on December 12, 2006
Pros: Spectacular picture quality, good color and black depth. Lots of settings.
Cons: None, other than the obvious rear-projection drawbacks (off angle veiwing)

Summary: I purchased this TV in the beginning of my long search for the right TV. I loved everything about it except for two things, and they are both inherent to the rear-projection technology: Poor off angle veiwing and the threat of costly bulb replacement. The TV was virtually flawless outside of those complaints (which ultimately led me to return the set) but if you will be using it in an area where you won't be watching from angles of more than 90 degrees this TV would be an excellent choice.

A Decent LCD but Lacking Features on Previous Sony Models
by mmulholland on October 23, 2006
Pros: Great Blacks for LCD
Cons: No PIP and Red Shift is too strong!

Summary: I bought this set for $1297 to replace a Sony KDF-42e655 LCD set that I sold to a friend. Now, this is just a newer version of the KDF-42E655 so I expected noticeable improvements. Boy was I wrong. Sure, the picture was better (especially the blacks)but I was very dissapointed to discover that it does not have PIP. Also, the remote is bulky and the red shift has to be corrected right out of the box. After much research I am returning the set tomorrow and going to Costco to buy the VIZIO GV42LHDTV (a flat panel LCD for only $200 more).

Bulbs do not hold up and way too expensive
by bcarrozzino on February 16, 2009
Pros: Have had the televison for a little over two years. Love the picture size and have been happy with set until now
Cons: Expected the bulb to last closer to the 8000 hours than products was touted to have. Used less than half that much and two years later it's a $200 bulb replacement. Next "replacement" will be something other than a Sony...no baloney!

Love just about everything about this TV.
by BRM569 on May 4, 2007
Pros: Great price for the size, excellent HD picture.
Cons: Not really much to complain about, I guess that the viewing angle isn't that great but you should know that when buying a DLP.
Summary: Had this TV for about 4 months now, and I love pretty much everything about it. Very sleek design, love how the speakers are hidden (I have surround sound so ...
Summary: Had this TV for about 4 months now, and I love pretty much everything about it. Very sleek design, love how the speakers are hidden (I have surround sound so I dont use them, but its nice to not have to look at them.) The TV is very light so it makes moving it, if necessary very easy, good on-screen menu, HDMI is always a plus, plenty of component out/inputs, and it wasn't too expensive. If you are looking for a great TV for not so much money, you should definately look into this.

Summary: I bought this set from SONY Style store on 11/25/2006. The staff ordered it from web for me. I had waited for 2 weeks for delivering due to this model was out of stock at that time. Then I just watched one month, it can't turn on any more. I called the SONY customer service. They said I can't return it because I bought it over 2 months (actually I just owned it for one month). They suggested me contact the SONY local repair store. The technican came to check it after 5 days I called them. But they can't fix it because they ordered the wrong part from SONY. The TV still in repair store now and I don't know when it will be fixed. I learned something from the experience, never buy TV or huge electric equipment from web, even the SONY STYLE store. If there is any problem, it's difficult to return it and there is only one month warranty.

No Support from Sony for Bulb
by jpmeister on February 13, 2010
Pros: Looks good and fits in my center!

Good for one year,
by zia2000z on December 25, 2008
Pros: It was good for one year exactly. Nice pics , nice colours and every thing was perfect.
Cons: After one year , the problem which developed was that there was a red band at the top and green at the bottom which is always there. I am still trying to find out what this is all about.
Summary: I did not buy any warrenty with this products, got it from Future Shop and iut just had one year Sony warrenty. I think Sony just made this product only ...
